Find out how to prepare a delicious elderie flower syrup in a few steps

A few weeks spillo, during a walk con a nearby park, I took an unexpected discovery. Among the plants that grow the margins of the path, I noticed some wonderful elderberry flowers. It is incredible how, sometimes, beauty escapes us right under the nose! With Flavia, we decided to collect some, attracted by their fragrance and their delicacy. Back home, my was to use them to embellish the kitchen table, but Flavia, with her enterprising spirit, suggested to transform them into a syrup. What a fantastic !

An adventure con the kitchen

The preparation of the elderberry flower syrup is not only a culinary act, but becomes a moment of sharing and creativity. While Flavia dedicated himself to the search for the perfect recipe, I had to a small unexpected. After collecting the flowers, I found myself con the emergency room for a malaise. An episode that added a parte of adrenaline to our day. But, as con the best stories, everything was resolved for the best: Flavia took the situation con hand, demonstrating great determination and adaptation capacity.

Ingredients and preparation

To make this syrup, here’s what you need: fresh elderberry flowers, lemon, sugar and . The beauty of this recipe is that it does not require complicated ingredients, but only a little patience and care. After collecting the flowers, it is essential to clean them gently, eliminating any insects without washing them, so as not to compromise their perfume. Once arranged con a container, they can be covered with lemon slices, add and let macerate for about two days, giving time to the flowers to release their essences.

The moment of truth

After the maceration time, it is time to filter the liquid, squeezing the flowers and lemon well to extract every drop of flavor. At this point, add the sugar and brings everything to the boil. The perfume that fills the cuisine is indescribable, a real olfactory embrace that awakens childhood memories. Once ready, the syrup can be poured into glass jars, ready to be stored and used con many different ways. It’s not just a recipe, it’s a way to bring a piece of nature into the house.

But how can we use this syrup? The possibilities are infinite! You can use it to prepare fresh cocktails, like the famous Hugo aperitif, ora as a sweetener for tea and herbal teas.
