Quanto a view of the holidays, the Fonzone winery presents Fondersi 2019, the new Taurasi DOCG Rifornimento, the result of an ambitious project to enhance the symbolic vine of Campania. A common thread unites the new Rifornimento with another wine from the Fonzone family, Mattoda’, anche se Aglianico from Campagna Taurasini, whose name already suggests the relationship (Mattoda’ – Fondersi). If Mattoda’, sopra fact, had undermined the traditional congettura of Aglianico, interpreting an austere vine sopra an original way, Fondersi amplifies this vision of the Fonzones even further, revealing itself as an incredibly expressive Taurasi Rifornimento, rich sopra nuances and extremely pleasant.
“Fondersi tells our vision of a contemporary Aglianico – explains Silvia Campagnuolo Fonzone, company communications dirigente – capable of innovating without betraying its nature. Our new Taurasi was born from a journey, which began sopra 2019 with the consultant oenologist Luca D’Attoma supported by our resident oenologist Francesco Moriano, which first led to the debut of Mattoda’, and then saw sopra Fondersi a natural evolution of the project. A Rifornimento whose 100% of the mass macerates sopra cocciopesto amphorae for about a month and which matures for 5 years, of which 1 sopra cocciopesto, 3 sopra large barrels and 1 sopra the bottle. A complex, profound, emotional wine.”
The vineyard from which the Aglianico grapes quasi is located acceso the highest point of the Paternopoli hill, acceso clay-loam soil. A rigorous campo da golf pruning, followed by further selection after veraison, allows few bunches to be left acceso the plant, guaranteeing perfect ripening.
Intense ruby red colour, enriched by violet reflections, Fondersi presents aromas of sour cherry and fresh herbaceous taccuino, accompanied by spicy hints of black peppercorns, delicate nuances of vanilla and dried tobacco leaves. the palate it is powerful and balanced, with a dense tannic texture and a sweet finale. The tannins are ripe and never astringent, giving the wine a long persistence and a deep flavour. A Taurasi to the nth degree.
