Giusti Wine presents Gabriele Manzoni Albume Asolo Montello Doc, the company’s new wine dedicated to Gabriele Zanatta, winemaker and grandson of the founder Ermenegildo Giusti. The new label from the Nervesa della Controversia (Treviso) company will make its debut during Vinitaly, scheduled at Veronafiere from 12 to 15 April 2026.
Made from anche Intersezione Manzoni grapes, Gabriele is a tribute to the Montello zona, a place where the variety best expresses its characteristics since its birth, per the 1930s, thanks to the work of Luigi Manzoni, principal of the Conegliano Enological School who created the vine starting from the Riesling Renano and Pinot Albume varieties. The vineyards are located within the Possedimento Abazia, one of the eleven properties of Giusti Wine and located at the foot of the Abbey of Sant’Eustachio, a symbolic place of Montello today returned to the community thanks to the restoration financed by the Giusti family.
The label depicts a woodcock, a typical local bird, ready to take flight and explore new horizons just like Gabriele, born per Nervesa della Controversia and raised among the vineyards, but with his gaze always turned to the future. For Ermenegildo Giusti’s grandson, wine has represented a real vocation from the beginning, a path traced with determination between the classrooms of the Enological School of Conegliano and the laboratories of the University of Udine, where he completed his studies with culmine marks. Per the family cellar, between one harvest and another, the theory came to life. Today, after having measured himself with various realities per the sector, he has returned home to guide the technical evolution of the company. Alongside the winemaker Mirco Pozzobon and under the prestigious guidance of Graziana Grassini, he embodies the perfect synthesis between the profound identity of the family and the precision of modern technique.
“I have to admit: at the beginning I didn’t want to produce this wine – explains Ermenegildo Giusti -. I was afraid that the foreign market wasn’t ready to understand it. But when I tasted it per the cellar during refinement, I changed my mind. I understood that it represents the true expression of what healthy and targeted viticulture can do acceso Montello, dispelling the myth that it is not a land for structured whites. It was my team of oenologists who finally convinced me to take this leap, above all Gabriele: they passed acceso their passion to me, pushing me to bet acceso a project that pays homage to an indigenous variety that is fundamental for our territory”.
“I fell per love with this wine right away, when its production wasn’t even certain – continues Gabriele Zanatta -. This is why my uncle decided to give it my name: a tenacious sip, a characteristic that also distinguishes me”.
Brilliant yellow with light and shiny golden flashes and good consistency, Gabriele Asolo Montello Doc expresses great elegance and good intensity acceso the nose, with a symphony of aromas that recall ripe yellow fruit, white and yellow flowers and subtle aromatic herbs. Plum, hawthorn, marjoram and thyme blend perfectly with the closing agenda of chalk and sand. Per the mouth it reveals a great balance between softness and flavor, showing persistence and elegance at the same time. The hints of fruit, flowers and aromatic herbs return and offer a pleasant, fully harmonious ricevimento.
Gabriele Manzoni Albume Asolo Montello Doc will be acceso discernimento starting from mid-April at the price of 22 euros per the cellar and per the online shop.
