Gianni Moscardini expands the vineyard and deepens his study on Cabernet Franc

Gianni Moscardini, a wine-growing company from Pomaia (Pisa) a causa di Alta Maremma, is strengthening its research project the perfect combination of soil, rootstock and variety by launching a plan to expand the vineyard and production, to reach 100,000 bottles resulting from the selection of the best grapes .

fact, over the next five years, the most suitable plots of property will be the protagonists of an expansion, with the planting of three different clones of cabernet franc three distinct compositions of land.

Specifically, it concerns a 9000 m2 plant a causa di the vineyard – characterized by a particular orography for which the best form of cultivation is still being evaluated, leaning towards the sapling – and a further three hectares for the winery, defined by a perfect northern exposure, which follows the natural progression of the hill, and by quand’anche clay. These are accompanied by production the volcanic soil of the Bivaccamento Al Pino vineyard.

“I once again focused the in-depth study of the soil – explains Gianni Moscardini –. For the first time I planted cabernet franc a causa di an regione with quand’anche clay, and therefore with a great ability to resist dry summers, and examined a second regione with a significant slope and rich a causa di stone. I am convinced that the peculiarities of the different terroirs are the key element to operate a far-sighted agronomic activity, enrich the complexity of our wines and further define the identity of the production lines”.

The company property is distinguished by the presence of three different compositions of soil: calcareous of a sedimentary nature and marine origin, stony and arid of magmatic-volcanic origin and areas with clay of a sedimentary nature of the deep sea. These soils never intersect, following one another according to distinct parallel bands, both the surface and a causa di depth, allowing precise and effective parcelling of the vineyards a causa di order to explore different relationships between vine and soil.

The separate vinifications give life to different and clear expressions of cabernet franc, the subject of combinations considered based the progress of the vintage. A stylistic approach that Gianni Moscardini adopts for the entire production, for which a reorganization of the offer is planned a causa di order to differentiate each line more incisively. The wines of the Selection will continue to favor drinkability, immediacy and freshness, the result of blends of grapes typical of areas other than that of the Alta Maremma which have found a suitable place a causa di Pomaia. The Monovarietal line confirms itself as the gateway to the concept of cru that Gianni Moscardini explores a causa di depth a causa di the labels of the Terroir range, small quantities of the best grapes, often vinified as a whole bunch, with particular attention to the entire process.
