Hic et Nunc announces the first vintage of Mondano Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo 2021
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In 2023, #HicetNunc, a winery from #VignaleMonferrato, produces a brand-new red wine job devoted to the rediscovery and valorization of native Piedmontese red wines. After the current homages to #Cortese and #Baratuciat, with Mefrel and Felem respectively, the very first vintage of Mondano Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo 2021 existed in November. The #wine, stemming from a single parcel, uses pleasantness and keeps in mind varietal, opening on classy flower and hot experiences and reviving mineral subtleties, which expose the limestone lands from which this red wine stems. Mondano is an expression of “cutting-edge” Nebbiolo del Monferrato: far from prejudgments however authentically territorial. The structures of this job depend on the historic proof of the existence of the #vine in #Monferrato and in the geological research studies performed by Hic et Nunc on the Bricco Alto vineyard, which highlighted a specific compatibility with the #nebbiolo range.

” Our objective is to expose and share a make over at native vines– states Massimo Rosolen, owner of Hic et Nunc– We began with Grignolino, Barbera and Cortese, continuing with Baratuciat and after that coming to Nebbiolo. A range that is definitely much better understood however which stayed behind the scenes in our location for a particular duration. Yet, canonical files and farming signs up affirm that in between 1200 and 1300 it was currently present both in the Asti location and in the Alessandria location. Another useful evidence of the compatibility of this job with our objective originated from the geological research study, which highlighted the belonging of the land of the Bricco Alto vineyard to the development of the Marne di S. Agata Fossili, present in different towns of Barolo. We then chose to return these lands to Nebbiolo and to expose an expression that was devoted both to the varietal and to its Monferrato origins. Mondano is a Nebbiolo that has its own and knowingly various identity”.

Mondano Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo 2021

Mondano Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo 2021 originates from a single vineyard, the Bricco Alto, with southern direct exposure, which extends for roughly 1 hectare at an elevation of 280 m above water level. The soils, going back to the Tortonian, are made up of calcareous clay marl and sand siliceous-limestone which provide the red wine balance, structure, taste and distinct scents. In order to maintain the attributes of this grape in the cellar, we selected vinification in steel. After soft pushing and maceration on the skins for roughly 2 weeks, the red wine aged in stainless-steel tanks for over 12 months before bottling. In the glass Mondano Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo has a pale ruby red color, with tips of cherry, increased, black pepper, nutmeg and cloves. The taste is well balanced, classy, with creamy tannins and enjoyable freshness. A genuine Monferrato Nebbiolo experience, rooted in history and terroir.
