The last of the 2nd edition of the National Prize Best Sommelier of Rossese di Dolceacqua, arranged by #AISLiguria in cooperation with the Italian Sommelier Association, was hung on Monday 26 February 2024 at the Le Rose Multifunctional Center in San Biagio della Cima (Imperia). The winner of the title of #BestSommelier in Rossese is Ilaria Lorini, from Ais Toscana, granted by Marco Rezzano, local president of Ais Liguria, in the existence of the mayor of San Biagio della Cima Luciano Biancheri, the head of nationwide Ais competitors Maurizio Zanolla and of the local competitors supervisor Vincenzo Galati. 2nd location was Massimo Tortora from Ais Toscana, 3rd location was Andrea Monaco from Ais Liguria. In addition to the prominent acknowledgment, the winner was granted a reward of 1000 euros, the 2nd location winner got an amount of 500 euros and the sommelier who can be found in 3rd location got a reward of 250 euros.
Originating From Tavarnelle Val di Pesa (FI), Ilaria Lorini is 29 years of ages and is an agronomist, gin manufacturer and operates in a Chianti Classico winery. “Acquiring this acknowledgment gives pride for me since red wine is my fantastic enthusiasm– states Lorini– A love born in 2015 thanks to the University of Agricultural Sciences and which grew when I started the course to ending up being a sommelier. The National Prize for Finest Sommelier of Rossese di Dolceacqua, booked for all Ais sommeliers, was developed with the objective of boosting the sommelier’s occupation and increasing understanding and dissemination of the Rossese grape. The effort happened in 2 stages: an initially composed test behind closed doors and a last public test.
