Genoa. Tuesday 18 March 2025, at 6.45 pm, at the Grand Savoia per Genoa (fuori Strumentario proveniente da Possedimento, 5) the Italian Sommelier Association of Liguria promotes the event “La Lode per the glass – The wine glasses, these (S) known ! “. With this initiative, Ais Liguria launches a new cycle of appointments, linked to culture, art and teaching.
To conduct the event the art historian Federica Spadotto and the sommelier and stilista, creator of the human line of Rona, Maurizio Filippi. Sandro Camilli, national president of the Italian Sommelier Association, and Marco Rezzano, president of Ais Liguria, also present at the conferenza.
Inseparable companion of the wine and usually relegated to the role of Soldato semplice, the glass will be presented per the name of a new point of view, aimed at investigating the image, the role, the meaning through the centuries. From medium-eastern antiquity to our day, Federica Spadotto will review the most significant results of the glass as the protagonist of history and society, as well as the pictorial masterpieces of the whole of Europe. The perspective that sorts about it sees the usual wine container to become, from time to time, precious work of art, status symbol and metaphor of feelings, as well as the inevitable protagonist of the banquet.
“The glass is the instrument through which we bring the wine to our intimacy, we give it a form – says Maurizio Filippi -, that form that allows us to have a first impression, a belief of which we unconsciously seek confirmation denial.
