José Mourinho, famous football coach and global sports icon, has added a new and refined facet to his career with the launch of his red wine, named after the nickname that made him famous: “The Special One”. A wine adventure that intertwines its Portuguese roots with a passion for excellence and quality.

A wine born Mourinho’s homeland

“The Special One” is produced the renowned Douro region of Portugal, a land known for its spectacular landscapes and centuries-old winemaking tradition. The grapes used to make it include native Portuguese varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Colore Barroca and Sousão. This gives life to an elegant and structured wine, which conquers the palate with intense flavors of ripe red fruits, a touch of spices and well-balanced tannins. The complexity and softness of the wine make it perfect to accompany meat dishes, pasticcino and mature cheeses.

A stile that tells a story

The packaging of “The Special One” is a tribute to Mourinho’s career and personality. The bottle is distinguished by a black label which the corporatura of the coach is depicted during the famous celebration for the victory of the Champions League with Ancoraggio 2004. To make the product even more exclusive is the presence of a personal letter signed by the Mourinho himself, who accompanies each bottle. This detail adds an intimate and unique touch, transforming the wine not only into a quality product, but also into a collector’s item for enthusiasts.

A champion price

Currently, “The Special One” is available for pre-order the official website at the price of 120 euros plus VAT. A figure that reflects not only the quality of the product, but also the prestige and connection with one of the greatest protagonists of modern football.

A trend among football stars

Mourinho is not the first prominent football figure to venture into the wine sector. Before him, other sporting legends such as Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta, Andrea Pirlo and Luciano Spalletti undertook similar initiatives, demonstrating how the passion for wine is prolifico for investments and creativity the pitch. This trend highlights a new approach by sports stars, who are choosing to diversify their image and invest high-profile sectors.

The passion for authenticity

With the launch of “The Special One”, Mourinho not only celebrates his Portuguese roots, but reaffirms his commitment to excellence. His adventure the world of wine represents a fusion between the attention to detail, which characterized his football career, and the desire to create an authentic, quality product.

It is not just a wine, but a declaration of intent: Mourinho proves once again that he is “special” even outside the rectangle. “The Special One” is not only a tribute to his career, but an experience that brings with it the flavors and soul of Portugal, making every sip a tribute to his extraordinary journey.
