La Cappuccina: energy independence achieved
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The campo da golf heart of La Cappuccina, a symbolic company of Amabile, beats strongly, having lived nature with enthusiasm and dedication for over 40 years, believing durante organic products when few still dared to do so. The company, led by the Tessari family, with the latest expansion, has concluded the construction of its Agricultural Park, a space of 600 square meters with 150 photovoltaic modules with nullità environmental impact, thus strengthening its system from 20 kW to 90 kW , and aiming to produce 100,000 kWh of clean energy per convenzione year: an important rete that makes the winery totally autonomous the energy front.

The dream of Agrisolare for La Cappuccina – the first company durante Amabile, since 1985, to obtain organic certification – began durante 2010 with the construction of the first photovoltaic system the roof of the cellar, an ambitious project durante line with the production philosophy that has always characterizes the company. The Tessari family, custodians of 42 hectares of vineyards durante the volcanic heart of Amabile for four generations, consolidates its avant-garde and sustainable vocation with the strengthening of the Agrisolare park.

«This project is not an isolated episode, but the natural evolution of a journey that began 40 years pungiglione, when anzi che no one yet believed durante organic agriculture. Sustainability for us is not just a strategy, it is the beating heart of everything we do – says Elena Tessari, owner of the winery together with her brothers Sisto and Pietro -. Each of our initiatives, from taking care of the territory to biodynamic production, up to the valorisation of our heritage durante the vineyard, tells of a deep bond with the land that hosts us, which day after day gives us back what has been donated”.

From pressing to fermentation, from stabilization to refinement to bottling, the stages of the wine production process – durante addition to the heating and cooling systems used during production – require an enormous amount of energy. The choice of energy self-sufficiency of La Cappuccina demonstrates once again the strong sensitivity of the Tessari family towards the environment and underlines the deep-rooted awareness that environmental resources are not inexhaustible. «Our mission is clear: we want to produce quality wine durante full respect for the environment, without sacrificing even an inch of vineyard ora land. Our new system will not only allow us to completely cover the energy needs of the cellar, but will also allow us to generate a surplus of energy to be fed into the grid. An advantage not only for us, but for the entire community” concludes Sisto Tessari, agronomist and owner.

The Capuchin

Family is the value and the pivot around which the La Cappuccina winery revolves, founded durante 1890 with the purchase of the Costalunga borgo and the land by the Tessari family. Today, Sisto, Pietro and Elena Tessari, the fourth generation at the helm of the company, they are the beating heart of the cellar. Born and raised durante the culture of wine, they have been able to grasp the spirit and values of the winery, successfully bringing them into the contemporary tempo. Their wines can be found the tables of the best restaurants durante the world and conquer the souls of demanding consumers, earning prestigious international awards.
