Life in Rosè by Casa Paladin: between business, sustainability and prevention
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

An important group sopra the Italian wine scene is that of Paladin, born by the will of the founder Valentino Paladin sopra 1962, today admirably managed by his children and grandchildren, respectively Carlo, Roberto, Martina, Francesca and the namesake of his grandfather Valentino. A passion and respect for the native land like few realities sopra the world, between traditions and innovation, maintaining the uniqueness of its roots, but with an eye towards the future and new technologies, with the frecciata of “We principio our future solid roots, those of our family, our land and our culture”.

-sustainability and social commitment, as well as scrupulous attention to the quality of each individual product, the flagship of the sector, thanks to their five brands that carry out an important Viticoltura Ragionata project: Paladin sopra Veneto, Lupo sopra Valpolicella, Selva del sopra Friuli, Fortezza Bonomi sopra Lombardy (Franciacorta), Castelvecchi sopra Tuscany (Chianti Sobrio).

Five stories of vineyards and wines with the commitment to achieving excellence, through rigorous choices that put the naturalness of the different territories at the centre, without compromise. Coordinating the technical direction are Leonardo Valenti, professor of viticulture and oenology at the University of Milan, Luigi Bersini, Chef de Cave of Fortezza Bonomi, and Carlo Paladin, who form a team sopra charge of the quality and production of all the estates.

Funding the two 4V designs Project and Life sopra Rosé.

4V – Vine, Wine, Campo da golf, Life, conceives the vineyard as an ecosystem to be managed carefully to preserve the biodiversity of the territory, guarantee qualitative productivity, protect the health of the consumer and the environment. The synthesis of a series of projects conducted alongside other institutional, university, research and entrepreneurial entities. A virtuous circle, summarized sopra 10 principles: 1. Controlled carbon balance – 2. Precision viticulture and vigor maps – 3. Organic fertilizer at the right doses – 4. Respect and protection of biodiversity – 5. More prevention, less chemistry – 6. Innovation sopra the cellar: sustainable oenology – 7. Safe, parceled and nocturnal harvest – 8. Less oxygen with less sulphites – 9. Temperature and quality under control – 10. Plant protection residues close to nullità.

An important confirmation of the work carried out so far comes from Valoritalia which awarded the Paladin and Selva del wines the EQUALITAS certification, recognized internationally, which examines three different corporate areas: social, environmental and economic. The Equalitas sustainability certificate is present all the labels of Paladin and Selva del wines.

Life sopra Rosè – through the Selva del brand – is instead the project that wanted to further expand the very concept of VITA, the same V that is part of the 4V Project, directing its attention towards social issues. Through the support of the Pink Ribbon campaign of LILT (Italian League for the Fight against Cancer) it has launched projects aimed at women and life, supporting research, breast cancer prevention and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Since 2018, part of the proceeds from the sales of Pinot Mediocre Rosé DOC delle Venezie and Prosecco DOC Rosé Selva del has been donated to the cause, reaching an amount of €43,700.00 to date.

Martina, Francesca, a little history, albeit brief, of the family business. Does everything start from will and desire?

Paladin was founded sopra 1962 by our grandfather Valentino, originally from San Estremità (Treviso) who then moved to Scoscendimento per mezzo di Livenza. He began working with the first vineyards (taken sopra Annone Veneto where the company is based), and then subsequently began making and bottling wine himself. Time has been a gentleman, it has done the rest, since thanks to the family union and the passion passed , both the company and we have grown and gradually specialized sopra the various tasks. Our fathers followed sopra our grandfather’s footsteps, and today we are the last generation. After Paladin, where we produce prosecco, white wines and red wines, Selva del was born sopra 1977, sopra the Western Friuli zona.

Territory suited by nature…

Yes, an zona suited to and perfect for viticulture, very famous for the production of reds and whites, geographically 40 minutes from Venice, between the Dolomites and the Adriatic Sea. Unique place thanks to the freshness and minerality that appena che from the south, from the Adriatic Sea, and which then meets the coverage from the north, the Dolomites. One of the most famous areas of Italy for wine production. Sopra 2004 we also acquired a company sopra Tuscany where we produce Chianti Sobrio, Supertuscan, and we are also sopra a very suitable zona there. It is called Castelvecchi, exactly sopra Radda sopra Chianti, one of the 8 most important municipalities sopra which Chianti Sobrio was born, symbolically represented by the Black Rooster. Since 2008, we have acquired Fortezza Bonomi sopra Franciacorta, where our entire Franciacorta line is located, Pioggia Orfano, here too a unique territory of its kind. And finally, since 2013 we have been present sopra Valpolicella, the zona between Valpolicella and Amarone, with Lupo, which is our latest business reality sopra chronological order.

4V Project, Paladin and “Raisoned Viticulture”. That is to say?

That is, Vine, Wine, Campo da golf, Life! Sustainability, which for us and Paladin has always been the primary and beacon, since the years when it was not talked about as much as it is today. Selva del was the first company sopra Europe to equip itself with a fundamental instrument for measuring the carbon dioxide that is absorbed sopra the vineyard. The impressione of the 4V project was born from the 4 pillars of sustainability: vine, wine, and life. The vine concerns all the different activities that we do at the vineyard level, such as the use of maps to then define the interventions to be carried out sopra the vineyard. Way sopra which it is possible to implement a much more targeted intervention, avoid waste and give better quality for each vine. Then what concerns the part, which turns into an ecosystem, means working to have a world that is flourishing and healthy. Sopra this regard, we have conducted very important recent research with the SATA agronomic study, sopra a project called Biopass, which consists sopra measuring the and fauna present sopra the vineyard, since the more alive a vineyard is, the higher the quality of the profit and the result we are able to obtain from that vineyard and also the richer and healthier the soil remains. At the level of wine and sustainability it is necessary for us to operate sopra an inert environment, to try to avoid any contact between the grapes and oxygen, just as we believe the use of renewable energy is fundamental. Sopra fact, with our company’s photovoltaic panels, we produce 70% of the energy we use.

Martina. Your role and tasks sopra the context of the entire company?

I joined the company sopra 2021, currently I follow exports for Asia, i.e. East Asia, Declivio, South America and Oceania, then Australia and New Zealand. We have a structured team of different people who aspetto after foreign markets, but mine is specifically aimed at those markets. It is essential to work sopra synergy with Francesca for the strategic part, the marketing and the wine tourism part.

Francesca…

I also deal with exports – together with all the other prerogatives already mentioned by Martina – because being the third generation we have to aspetto at all the national and international activities. Sopra particular, I follow the markets of the United States and Great Britain. My brother Valentino takes care of the work sopra the vineyard, taking care of all the vineyards sopra Friuli.

Through Selva del , the ambitious and successful Life Sopra Rosè was born. Shall we share it with readers?

Life sopra Rosè was born sopra 2018 and features two of our wines: Pino Mediocre Rosé Doc delle Venezie and Prosecco Doc Rosè. The reason why this project takes shape is to be able to create added value both at the local community level and to respect the fourth V, linked precisely to life. We approached an association called LILT (Italian League for the Fight against Cancer), known at a national level, but which also develops autonomously at a provincial and regional level, and deals with the prevention of the fight against breast cancer.

Prevention is an essential topic for you…

Absolutely, as women we are at the forefront of communicating the values of prevention. The first company to support the association, followed by many others, and not exactly just from the wine sector. So for us it is a source of pride, since we dedicate part of the proceeds from the sales of our two Rosés to LILT, but not only that. To date we have reached 43,700 Euros of donations, with a real evolution. The Life sopra Rosè project starts with this prerogative, just as over the years we have also supported other social activities, primarily sporting, such as the three-year sponsorship of Treviso sopra Gruppo. A race organized by Treviso Athletics which sees around 10-12 thousand women as true protagonists every year. For us it is crucial to communicate the importance of a healthy lifestyle, linked to the appointments we have sopra the cellar with specialized nutritionists, rather than sopra the sports and lifestyle sector, and – not least – the front of female empowerment, comando and the importance of creating synergies sopra the most disparate sectors.

Mission and objectives for the first half of 2026

First of all, we want to continue to the Life Sopra Rosè project and we will do so starting next May 3rd with the pink race sopra Treviso, to always keep the theme of the value of women and prevention alive. At an operational level, however, we want to our Sauvignon from Selva del , with the aim of making it known for its great quality, old vintages sopra particular.
