Napoli is among Europe’s many varied and remarkable cities, and an appealing location to take a trip to. Typically misconstrued, this Italian city has a few of the nation’s most stunning architecture, ancient historical websites, scrumptious food, fascinating customs, and a friendly, inviting individuals. Found in the Southern Campania area, Napoli (or Naples) has an extremely various character from many other Italian cities.

In this travel documentary, I’m checking out the streets of Napoli and its environments. From the buzzing, narrow streets of the old town hall to the grand churches and cathedrals. From historical palaces and castles to strange underground tunnels. And from ancient historical sites under the shadow of Mount Vesuvius to among Italy’s many stunning stretches of shoreline.

The video was made in March 2023 when I had the opportunity to take a trip to Naples and environments for 12 days.

Here’s a quick summary of the material in this video:

We begin our journey in the old town hall of Naples, with its charming narrow streets and dynamic markets. This is the pounding heart of Napoli, where much of every day life happens outdoors. After presenting a few of the city’s history and culture, I take a food trip around these exact same streets, surpassing the city’s most popular meal (Margarita pizza). I likewise attempt my hand at making pasta myself, with a cooking course that dives deeper into cooking and domesticity in the area.

You discover espresso bars and coffee shops all over Napoli, however possibly the most popular one functions as a shrine to Diego Maradona. This popular football gamer has actually gotten a saint-like status, and you will see his face all around the city. The city’s arena is likewise called after him.

While faith plays an essential function in society, Neapolitans have an enduring custom of blending Catholic faith with a mix of routines, legends, misconceptions, and wonders. I dive a little much deeper into this, and likewise check out a few of the city’s most fascinating churches, like the Duomo Cathedral and the Chiesa del Gesu Nuovo.

The architecture in Napoli looks like the city’s abundant and varied history, and strolling through the various communities practically seems like time taking a trip. From cloisters and abbeys to forts and palaces, you can discover yourself in a various period at every corner of the street.

I likewise check out the city’s captivating shoreline, with little fishing ports, concealed beaches, relaxing boulevards, and lots of dining establishments. It’s an enjoyable contrast to the stress of downtown. Do not miss out on the city stations, which are a destination of their own, showing art and style that might be part of a museum. Lastly, I likewise check out 3 of the remarkable underground tunnels and/or cities, the Bourbon Tunnels, San Gennaro’s Catacombs, and Napoli Sotterranea.

In the 2nd part of the video, I check out a few of the most crucial sights around Napoli, beginning with the remarkable, yet afraid, Mount Vesuvius. This volcano is among the most active on the planet. Its most violent (and popular) eruption remained in 79AD, which ravaged Roman cities like Pompeii and Herculaneum. Surprisingly, both these locations are well maintained (due to a layer of ashes and pumice that ‘secured’ much of the websites).

After going to those, we check out the shoreline, with the captivating towns and enforcing mountains of the Amalfi coast, consisting of the towns of Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi. This is likewise among Italy’s most popular vacation locations. I complete this journey on the appealing island of Procida, which is less checked out by travelers than the 2 larger islands in the area. It has lots of historical structures, picturesque vistas, black sand beaches, and a laidback environment.
