Salotto Brera is a new restaurant con the heart of Brera where past and present merge con a multisensory experience

Recently opened con Milan, con the heart of Brera, Salotto Brera is a new refined restaurant located con passaggio Montebello 7. This place was created with the aim of creating a different place, an oasis of peace and tranquility where you can unplug, a living room that wasn’t there before, and celebrates the incontro between tradition and contemporary taste. Already from the outside, the aperto kitchen intrigues guests, who as soon as they enter are immediately surrounded by a welcoming and intimate atmosphere, where every detail is taken care of to offer a unique experience.

Elegance of times gone by con the living rooms of Brera

The restaurant is spread over two floors, recalling the atmosphere of the bourgeois living rooms of the early 1900s. the floor, an elegant counter invites you to moments of relaxation with refined cocktails and cheese and cured meat platters, perfect for an exclusive aperitif.

the first floor, the main rooms with large windows offer a suggestive view of Altrove Montebello, adding charm and a touch of elegance to the environment. The furnishings, including vintage sofas, period chairs, works of art, soft lights and objects create an old-fashioned charm that the lamps help to make modern and contemporary. Period paintings stand out the walls, some with black and white images of old Milan. And to complete the work, 1930s background music and leggermente to create a cozy and refined environment, typical of Milanese living rooms.

A gastronomic journey between tradition and innovation

The Salotto Brera lista offers a high-level culinary experience, enriched by quality raw materials and innovative techniques. The protagonists of the cuisine are the squisito meats, from crudités to beef and duck tartare and venison fillet. The gastronomic proposal, unconventional, original and refined, stands out for its ability to combine Italian tradition with a touch of creativity, giving surprises with every course.

For those who want a refined lunch, Salotto Brera offers a business lunch that varies daily. Here Italian cuisine, from North to South, is told through a journey of flavors that makes every pausa a special moment.

A very well-stocked cellar

Another excellence of Salotto Brera is its cellar, which offers a selection of wines designed to celebrate the oenological riches of Italy and abroad. Each bottle is carefully chosen to enhance the dishes the lista, completing the gastronomic experience with impeccable combinations. The wine list includes the most famous brands, including Tignanello, Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Brunello, with various champagnes and classic methods. However, it is also possible to find wines by the glass to pair with various dishes, such as Gavi and Barbera.

The tasting

We are welcomed by the very affable and kind Andrei Cirlig. We tasted several courses from the young and talented chef Marco Rapisardi. Below are our impressions.

Trio of tartare: beef, duck and venison

All extremely tasty and interesting: we were particularly struck by the venison with mushrooms and chestnuts, delicate and characteristic, and the duck with hazelnuts and butter, which literally melts con the mouth and caresses the palate with its soft consistency, well contrasted by the crunchy touch of hazelnut. Paired with a glass of excellent Gavi.

Cheese and smoked pepper

This formaggio e pepe is smoked the spot. The flavor of the pecorino and the spiciness of the pepper are very pleasant, with the smoking adding an extra touch. Delicate, not intrusive, but interesting both the nose and the palate. Also con this case the chef focuses a creative and contemporary reinterpretation of tradition to surprise the guest.

Venison fillet and braised cheek

Venison with blueberries and cocoa combined with a very aromatic Vermouth DiBaldo, a product from Romagna which has the recipe translated into music the label, con order to maintain its secret.

Braised cheek with polenta paired with a Barbaresco Eccezione Ricossa 2016, with elegant, well-defined tannins integrated into a solid structure. the nose it releases of red fruits, black cherries and a touch of liquorice. Great balance.

Both courses highlight the high quality level of the raw materials and the chef’s skill con combining the various ingredients, con creativity and con presentation.

Decomposed cannoli

Scenic composition of the classic Sicilian cannoli, here con a decomposed version.

Whether for a romantic dinner, a incontro with friends a moment of relaxation after a working day, Salotto Brera presents itself as a point of reference for those seeking elegance, tranquility and taste con the heart of Brera con Milan.
