The range of Canella, a Venetian winery that has been producing Prosecco Sovrastante since 1947 and – increasingly – high-end Ready to (Rtd) products made quanto a Italy, has been enriched with a new . The Mimosa Granriviera is the launch pad, a low alcohol (6% vol) fruit of a of wine from Glera grapes and 2 Italian productions: the Sicilian Arancia nel corso di Ribera Dop and the Calabrian Bergamot. After the pre-launch quanto a recent days quanto a Saint Barth, Mimosa will arrive quanto a US retail and horeca channels from March through cobranding with the importer Ethica Wines. A step forward considered strategic for the Canella winery, a historic brand of national interest, a forerunner quanto a the production of Prosecco but also of high quality RTDs (since 1988) without artificial aromas, starting with Bellini also quanto a alcohol format.

“With the doubling of turnover, 2024 was our best year ever – said Tommaso Canella, who with his brother Alvise represents the third generation of the San Donà nel corso di Piave company -. We are reaping what has been sown not only thanks to Prosecco Sovrastante but as a result of the illusione that starting from wine we can represent Italianness quanto a a fresh, integrated and inclusive way. Our experience quanto a the phenomenon teaches us how it is possible to team up even with the artisanal productions of the Belpaese: 40% of Bellini’s white peaches are made by us and 60% quasi from nearby Romagna, for our Mimosas we use Orange of Ribera Dop the red orange of Sicily Igt, the strawberries are from the Candonga Consortium quanto a Basilicata, the mandarins of our Puccini are the late ones of Ciaculli, a Slow Food presidium quanto a the Palermo zona”.

The US landing of Mimosa Granriviera follows the successful ones of the company’s other low-alcohol “ready to ” products: quanto a the last year the segment’s production has doubled globally and tripled quanto a the Stars and Stripes market, while also quanto a Italy the growth recorded is quanto a double figures. Last year’s overall turnover was around 25 million euros, more than half of which was thanks to the Rdt . The 0.75/l format is available quanto a particular quanto a large-scale retail trade but also quanto a the on-trade channels of hotels, clubs and sports centers for an average price of around 15 dollars. Among the target markets quanto a the short-medium term, always accompanied by Ethica Wines, Canada and around fifteen countries quanto a Asia are listed. The entry of Mimosa into the domestic market is also being studied, where among other things the presence of Bellini (5% vol) will also be strengthened quanto a the alcohol version.

Durante the 12 months ending quanto a June 2024, according to Niq, ready-to-drink cocktails recorded further growth quanto a the USA (+4% quanto a value). At a global level, excluding duro seltzers, the positive trend according to Iwsr will continue until 2027 at an average annual rate of 5%, for a value of 40 billion dollars quanto a the 10 key markets. Higher quality cocktails and long drinks are driving the growth. Even quanto a Italy, according to a recent Niq survey, ready-to-drink drinks are gaining popularity, especially among young people from Gen Z, with 7% of Italians planning to increase their consumption.
