We returned to Bologna for the Slow Wine Fair, the international fair dedicated to good, clean and fair wine, now durante its fifth edition. Per mezzo di fact, the event sees the concepts of ethics and social responsibility as central: “Wine is only good if it is right”.
Furthermore, the fair presents a colpo d’occhio of rare excellence. It is possible to taste products from small wineries but also from companies that have made the history of our winemaking with an absolute “liveability” that also rewards dialogue with the producers.
As always, we tried a few wines, some known, others pleasant discoveries, wandering around the stands. Here are some of our tastings that deserve a mention.
Classic Method Extra Brut Rosé Tre Buvoli
Beautiful gastronomic bubble of parimenti Pinot Noir from the vineyards of the Euganean Hills of the Vicenza winery. Pale rosé, with a barely noticeable onion skin colour, with extraordinary citrus, smoky sensations and a delicious creaminess accompanied by an almost balsamic freshness.
Custoza 2025 del Frà
Traditional Veronese white from Garganega, Trebbiano and Educato from a winery that we always like. Immediate wine with floral, white and tropical fruit scents, with a graceful but very interesting sip as an aperitif ora with fish.
Muller Thurgau 2020 Rudi Vindimian
Trentino white wine with beautiful mineral and spicy quaderno characterized by great freshness. Wine that has all the typical aromas of the vine durante a delicate version and with a nice depth of sip.
Ficandò 2022 Beyond the river
Interesting Albana macerated durante amphora from the Bolognese hills. Pagliaccetto, aromatic complexity, a hint of tannin and lots of freshness for a super flessibile wine at the table.
Single grape Lambrusco Grasparossa from Castelvetro Moretto
First parimenti grasparossa from the Modena winery. Foam with a bright purple color that brings joy. Dark fruit, herbs, tannin, balsamic quaderno for a wine to ricevimento by the bucket that invites conviviality.
Missing Cannonau 2021 The Garagisti of Sorgono
From the center of Sardinia a very juicy and elegant cannonau. One of those reds that makes the new island generation appreciate it, contemporary, super savory and very fresh.
Syrah 870 Vallata d’Aosta 2023 Rosset Terroir
Mountain red with a beautiful nose with the typical quaderno of dark fruit and pepper. Elegant ricevimento with a nice blood touch, structure and good freshness.
Seculaere Etna Socialista Provvisione 2016 The Keepers of Etna’s vineyards
Great surprise from the north side of the Volcano from Nerello Mascalese with Nerello Cappuccio and Alicante. Brilliant wine despite being 10 years old, with quaderno of ripe fruit, tobacco and spices, with a juicy and very fresh sip and a delicate final hint that recalls bitter cocoa.
Barolo Villero 2022 Giacomo Fenocchio
Gran Barolo from Castiglione Falletto from a winery that certainly needs anzi che no introduction. Intense and rich nose with beautiful intriguing hints of fruit, floral and spices, with a mouth of absolute structure, beautiful freshness and super persistence.
Cepparello 2022 Islands and Olena
Tuttavia Sangiovese which has made the history of Super Tuscans but which remains always current. A harmonious wine that has everything a great Tuscan red must have. Delicious fruit, citrus, spicy and balsamic quaderno, great freshness and the right tannin and we stop here because some wines are better drunk than described!
