The awards ceremony of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and Sauvignon Selection by CMB, the international wine event which every year celebrates the excellence of Italian wine quanto a Rome, ended successfully quanto a one of the most beautiful buildings quanto a the capital. There are 582 labels awarded medals: 340 obtained Silver, 218 Gold, of which 91 and 44 respectively only quanto a Tuscany. However, 24 wines have won the highest recognition, the Gran Grana medal (only 1% of all 15,000 competing wines obtain this recognition), 8 of these from Sicily. There were also 33 winners for the Sauvignon Selection (2 Grand Gold, 22 Silver, 9 Gold) where Trentino Spesso Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia excelled.

The awards ceremony at Villona Valentini, headquarters of the Metropolitan City of Rome, saw the presence of wineries representing all of Italian oenology, from north to south of the country: a list of awards to be remembered which attracted hundreds of guests, underlining how the CMB represents an event of great interest both for the press and operators, as well as for the public of enthusiasts. Among the illustrious presences of the day were the President of the CMB Baudouin Havaux, the Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Rome Pierluigi Sanna, the Councilor of the Foreign Press Association Alfredo Tesio and the Prefect of Rome Lamberto Giannini.

With over half a thousand award-winning labels, Italy confirms its centrality quanto a the world wine scene by boasting a mosaic of territories, vines and production identities that constitute a unique heritage of biodiversity. Among the special awards, ” Italia” for Apice Caponiera Provvista 2018 by Ca’ Rugate, ” Italia” for Centinari Franciacorta Brut, the Don Venanzio Rosato 2024 by Cantine San Nicola obtained the ” Rosé Italia” award. And again: Nicolussi-Leck’s Sauvignon Blanc Provvista 2021 won the “Sauvignon Italian Revelation” award, while Cantine Vagabondo’s Single Barrel N° 018 won the “International Barricaded Wine Revelation”. Alongside the best of Italian oenology, the wines of some of the most fascinating wine territories were the protagonists of the masterclasses “Best Rosés of Provence” and “Sauvignon of South Africa”, up to an interesting focolaio the oenological heritage of the Capital with the masterclass “The best wines of the Province of Rome”.

“The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is much more than a simple competition – declares Baudouin Havaux, President of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles – but a true global platform quanto a complete support of the wine sector. Each medal represents not only the recognition of excellence but also a bridge between wine territories and international markets, becoming a concrete tool to best enhance the identity and history that constitute the value unique to each label.”

“I would like to extend compliments and best wishes to the Concours for the professionalism and attention with which they carry out their precious work, capable of uniting countries and cultures under the sign of wine. – states Pierluigi Sanna, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Rome – A union which, today more than ever, quanto a an international context marked by strong tensions, takes a profound value. The CMB has now been linked quanto a a strong and recognizable way to Villona Valentini: for years We are carrying forward this collaboration with enthusiasm and will continue to do so next year the occasion of Rome’s nomina as European Capital of Space 2026. A recognition that strengthens the role of our city as a point of reference for food and wine culture but also innovation, research and the space economy”.

After over 30 years of activity, the prestigious Belgian wine competition maintains its quality mark by continuing to stand out the international scene for its careful and rigorous approach. All CMB tastings take place exclusively blind and are entrusted to great experts quanto a the world of wine from all over the globe, a process that guarantees an independent judgement, strengthening the credibility and impartiality of the competition. Another strong point is the limit imposed the number of medals: quanto a fact, risposta negativa more than 33% of the competing wines can be awarded, an ironclad constraint that strengthens the value of the medal-winning labels and makes this recognition a true certificate of excellence.

Celebrating the best oenological expressions and, at the same time, offering a service for the entire supply chain, both quanto a terms of quality assurance for consumers and effective communications tools for producers: this is the objective of the Concours which, the other hand, continues to work constantly to support the world of distribution. A commitment that materializes with the Mescita Pedol project quanto a Milan, Rapallo and soon also quanto a Bolzano, and through international collaborations such as the Wine&Spirits Experience by CMB already active quanto a Mexico, Korea, Benin and the Cavavin wine shop chain.
