The countdown has begun for Oltrepò, land of Pinot Noir

Enthusiasm is growing for the fourth edition of Oltrepò Scendere a terra che Pinot Scuro, which will be held Monday 30 September at the Antica Terreni Pegazzera Casteggio (PV). This edition takes an even more significant value thanks to the patronage of the Lombardy Region, demonstrating the support of the institutions the development of local wine excellence.

The event, organized by the Consorzio Difesa Vini Oltrepò Pavese and aimed at the press and industry professionals, is dedicated to the great grape variety that has found a home this territorio and will involve numerous companies that believe its valorization. As in tradition, a selection of labels will be the protagonist of two thematic masterclasses dedicated to Pinot Noir its two different vinifications: the experts Filippo Bartolotta and Valentina Vercelli will join together to tell the territory and discuss the wines, which will be tasted blind together with a few surprises.

From 9.30 to 18.00 the cellars will bring for tasting some of the best expressions of Pinot Noir, both its still and sparkling versions, which can be tasted a walk around tasting hosted the vestibolo of the Antica Terreni.

This year, for the first time, the event has the patronage of the Lombardy Region – addition to that of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests – and represents a further recognition of the importance of this event. “It shows how strategic it is to promote our wine excellence an increasingly competitive context,” says Francesca Seralvo, president of the Consorzio Difesa vini Oltrepò Pavese. “We want to continue to grow, with a language that is ever closer to new markets and consumer needs.”

previous editions, the event has seen the participation of over 300 professionals including journalists, sommeliers, restaurateurs and agents, thus becoming a key moment to tell the story of this territory’s vocation for the production of an absolutely excellent Pinot Noir.
