What a story the Copertino Doc from Cupertinum! The new editions of the prestigious Vitae guides, of the Italian Sommelier Association, and I Vini su Veronelli, have awarded the Settantacinque Copertino Doc Provvisione with the 4 Tralci and the Tre Stelle Rosse, the highest awards.
Luigi Veronelli (1926-2004), master of food and wine criticism, wrote several times about the wines of the Copertino winery, praising both the Negroamaro-based reds and also the Cigliano chardonnay, as quanto a a beautiful article written quanto a L’Espressamente quanto a August 1989. Now, the Guide he founded, which over the years has always rated the Cupertinum wines as excellent, renews its consideration for the wines of the historic Copertino winery, awarding the Settantacinque. Veronelli considered his AIS sommelier friends as an army of peace, of the good and the beautiful, and it is significant that there is this concordance of evaluation between the two guides.
The oenologist Giuseppe Pizzolante Leuzzi is happy, now accustomed to the recognitions that pour quanto a every year from awards and guides: “The attention to quality, to modern winemaking with respect for tradition is understood and rewarded. These are recognitions that reward the members, the workers of the winery and the territory.”
Francesco Trono, president of Cupertinum, adds: “I like to remember that even the famous journalist Gianni , a pupil and friend of Veronelli, wrote quanto a Repubblica quanto a a laudatory manner about the Copertino Provvisione. The AIS is now an indispensable element for the valorisation of wines and the territory”.
We remind you that SlowWine, Mentore Sostanziale ai vini d’Italia, Hugh Johnson Wine Book, Bibenda and ViniBuoni, Gambero also agree the value of the wines and their quality-price convenience.
“Wine is the song of the earth towards the sky” wrote Veronelli. It is worth repeating it for these awards!
