Vecchie Terre di Montefili: Tuscan business that has actually gotten rewards and acknowledgment for the high quality level of its red wines

Immersed in the attractive Tuscan hills, in between the towns of Greve in Chianti and Panzano, we discover the Vecchie Terre di Montefili estate. This captivating corner of Tuscany is the crossroads where art, enthusiasm and custom mix harmoniously to produce red wines of outright quality.

Established by 3 American buddies, Nicola Marzovilla, Frank Bynum and Tom Peck Jr, joined by a deep affinity for Italy and the typical vision of improving the Tuscan area, and led by the specialist oenologist Serena Gusmeri, the business represents a sign of Made in Italy in the Italian and global white wine scene.

The production approach of Vecchie Terre di Montefili is a hymn to sustainability and development. Each tract is treated with care and regard, with the goal of making the most of the capacity of each specific vine. The continuous look for quality is supported by a pioneering clinical job begun in 2018, produced thanks to Vitenova Vine Health, which concentrates on the health of the soil and the surrounding community.

Just recently, the business acquired the prominent Variety Ark accreditation, therefore licensing its dedication to 360-degree environmental management. This acknowledgment is the fruit of years of work and a holistic technique to farming that concentrates on regard for biodiversity and sustainability.

However it remains in the glasses that the Tuscan business exposes all its achievement. Its red wines have, in reality, been granted various global awards and stand apart for their beauty and intricacy. From Chianti Classico DOCG to Cabernet Sauvignon, each label is a sensorial journey through the landscapes and customs of this interesting area of the gorgeous nation.

And there is no much better method to totally enjoy this experience than to personally check out Vecchie Terre di Montefili. Within the walls of this ancient estate, visitors are invited warmly and can appreciate the outcomes of the work performed with such enthusiasm, entirely immersing themselves in the wonderful environment of the Tuscan countryside.

Vecchie Terre di Montefili is a business where the enthusiasm for white wine integrates with regard for nature and the advancement of the area, a location where time appears to stop and each label narrates of custom and credibility.

We tasted Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 and Vigna nel Bosco Toscana IGT Toscana 2019. Below are our impressions.

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019

Tasting notes

The vinification happens in steel and the maturation in big barrels for 24 months. Stop to fine-tune for a more 10 months in the bottle.

Visual assessment: thick ruby without drooping.

Olfactory assessment: extreme and sophisticated sense of odor, in which tips of ripe fruit such as cherry, currant, plum and blackberry enforce themselves, decorated with spicy tips of nutmeg, cloves and pepper, completing with tips of Mediterranean scrub.

Taste-olfactory test: the taste is complete, with a well-crafted tannic texture, a level of acidity that does not stop working to make itself felt and a relentless surface.

Pairing: outstanding with very first courses with meat sauce, red meat.

Vigna nel Bosco IGT Toscana 2019

Tasting notes

It originates from the greatest vineyards, at 540 m, at the top of the Montefili hill. These vineyards are the only ones on the residential or commercial property to come from the UGA of Montefioralle. Here, where half a hectare of land was picked to produce a cru white wine, the vines underwent a cautious series of agronomic methods to ensure a long and sluggish maturation of the very best fruits. The vinification happens in steel, followed by aging for 26 months in big barrels. More improvement in bottle for one year.

Visual assessment: brilliant ruby-toned livery.

Olfactory assessment: on the olfactory combination, tones of cherry, peach, plum and sweet spices, consisting of nutmeg and ginger, are drawn with accuracy and beauty, followed by fragile balsamic whiffs.

Olfactory trial run: warm and soft sip, with a stylish tannic texture that offers a well balanced advancement, motivating you to duplicate the tasting without doubt.

Pairing: perfect with red meat, video game.
