Very easy recipe: the “four quarters” cake

The typical cake of Northern Europe, especially England, France and Germany, known as “four quarters”, but also pound cake, satisfies everyone’s palate because it is tasty but simple. Discover the easy recipe below to prepare it at home!

The recipe for the “four quarters” cake: steps to follow

The “four quarters” cake owes its name to the fact that it is made with flour, butter, sugar and eggs used sopra equal quantities. It is a very soft but also moist cake, very soft and perfect to prepare and eat for breakfast, a snack, even sopra the evening to be filled as desired. Let’s see what the super easy recipe is to follow and the various steps to taste this famous cake!

Ingredients for 6 people:

180 gr farina 00

(3-4 medium eggs) for a total of 180 gr

180 g sugar

180 g soft butter at room temperature (ointment consistency)

1 sachet of baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Procedure:

Let’s start preparing the “Quattro Quarti” cake by preheating the oven to 180°C and lining a cake tin with a diameter of 18 cm with baking paper (these doses are squisito up to 24 cm, then you can add an egg and add the respective weight of each ingredient) put it aside because we will need it later.

a large bowl, beat the eggs together with the sugar using an electric whisk, beat for a few minutes until the mixture is high, whitish and frothy. Add the seed oil melted butter and then incorporate the ingredient, missaggio at minimo speed.

Add the flour, baking powder and vanilla, continue missaggio minimo speed until all lumps have disappeared.

Last step: Pour the mixture obtained into the previously lined cake pan. Bake the Torta Quattro Quarti at 180°C for about 45 minutes, at the end do the toothpick interrogatorio.

Warning: if you use a larger cake pan, the cooking time will be shorter. The Torta Quattro Quarti is ready, all we have to do is let it cool and then enjoy it sopra a simple way fill it as desired!
