Vistorta presents Bianca and Brando at the Slow Wine Fair, the new wines resulting from long experimentation

#Vistorta, a historical Friulian business, will provide 2 brand-new red wines at the #SlowWineFair in #Bologna which represent the modern pivotal moment wanted by Brandino Brandolini D’Adda and the wine maker Alec Ongaro. For Vistorta it is the 2nd year of involvement in the Bolognese fair, which sees the involvement of business that make sustainability and eco-friendly farming practices the fulcrum of their day-to-day action. #Bianca and #Brando are 2 single-variety #wines (100% Friulian and 100% Red wine respectively) which are produced with standard strategies such as extended maceration on the skins, manual punching down, spontaneous fermentation in open barrels.

Both Bianca and Brando make long macerations in contact with the skins, with manual pushing. The fermentations occur in open and ceramic barriques and the improvements, constantly in contact with the skins, are extended: 200 days for Bianca, 180 for Brando. After racking and pushing, maturation occurs both in ceramic and in French wood to provide beauty and improvement, keeping the strong character of the red wines.

Together with these 2 red wines, the business will likewise be tasting the brand-new vintage of Vistorta red wine, a white wine efficient in progressing with time, the outcome of Brandino Brandolini D’Adda’s excellent experience with this vine. Vistorta Red wine is chosen from 16 vineyard parcels, which vary in age of the vineyard, clone and training system, to get various subtleties in the last red wine. The vinification likewise occurs individually to much better handle the macerations based upon the attributes of the grapes, differing the length and strength of the pumping over tank by tank. For some years now, 20% of the item has actually been vinified both in outdoor and ceramic barriques, with manual punching down and different durations of post-fermentative maceration.

Vistorta is the 220 hectare farming business, established by Giudo Brandolini in 1872. Today it is led by Brandino Brandolini D’Adda and followed in the cellar with enthusiasm by Alec Ongaro. The vineyards, naturally handled given that 2008, are all situated in Vistorta, a little Friulian town on the border with Veneto. The Red wine presented at the end of the 19th century in the business produces Vistorta, with grapes chosen from 10 little plots. Native ranges, such as Friulano, Ribolla, Refosco, accompany Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay to produce young, fruity and sophisticated red wines.
