After more than fifty years of joint work under the aegis of the Colli Bolognese Vini Consortium, from January 2025 the producers of the territory have become part of the Emilia-Romagna consortium. This passage made possible a common rete: to protect, enhance and promote the Pignoletto, which until now had two distinct references, the Emilia-Romagna Consortium for its DOC and the Consortium Vini Colli Bolognese for its DOCG.

“It is a bet, of course, since it does not concern the whole region as it may seem apparently, but which falls only the provinces of Modena, Bologna and Ravenna”, explains the director Giacomo Savorini who then adds with emphasis: “However, it was not absolutely a trivial thing to put together first of all Emilia with Romagna, where the historical drew divides us only a textual level”. The trait d’union is precisely the fussy wine that “sits at the table and accompanies the whole meal”, once again sanctioning the proverbial virtues of its people, that is, the conviviality and the exceptional reception capacity “.

It is a range of about 3 thousand hectares where the hills of Bologna, Modena, and Imola are the protagonists, together with the plain that goes between the rivers Panaro and Reno to Romagna: a bucolic landing handkerchief that collects a hundred members for a total of about 8 thousand winemakers and over 15 million bottles. “An example, probably unique Italy, which artisan companies and large cooperative and private companies have joined themselves to achieve common objectives of promotion and enhancement, but with the awareness of resting a historical and cultural origine of quality and very strong bond with the territory”. The director continues, finally adding with satisfaction the fact of finding the word Emilia-Romagna from now the next labels, alongside the aforementioned denominations.

Colli Bolognesi Pignoletto DOCG

The Colli Bolognese Pignoletto DOCG, obtained from the Tenero grape (locally also called Alionzina), is a wine that enchants for its fresh and lively sparkling and sparkling versions. However, the character emerges the firm version, which it conquers for its great structure, enriched by the long refinement. The upper classic, fact, is not marketed before October 4 of each year, so that the wine reaches its maximum expression: a product of excellence and above all of great personality. The grapes, which synthesize themselves the unique characteristics of the territory, allow the high classic DOCG folding to express themselves the best way the favorable vintages, also reaching several years of aging. Furthermore, with the passage of time, its structure is enriched with a surprising thickness and depth. Considered among the most interesting whites of the Italian wine scene, the DOCG Pignoletto Bolognese Colli is distinguished by its typicality and its character, so much so that it is appreciated not only at national level, but also international.

Colli Bolognesi DOC

The lands of the AGRRO Bononiense (Ager Bononiensis) already cultivated with vineyards and olive the Etruscan secolo, pass an oenological tradition that the Romans inherit and enrich, consolidating the production techniques and which remains preserved, developing, so far. The red wines, obtained from international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and typical Barbera, contributed to making the territorio of ​​the Bolognese hills famous already the 1980s, both Italy and the world. The Sottazona of Bologna, with its typical red (at least 50% Cabernet Sauvignon), the white aromatic (at least 50% Sauvignon Blanc) and the lively sparkling wine (Chardonnay and Pinot Candido, cerchio ora jointly at least 40%), continues to be present the tables of the city, also because the continuous search and artisan production continue to “transform” the Bolognese hills into an innovation laboratory, Ergeting a point of reference for regional viticulture.
