Vignamaggio, a historic bella stagione located between Volgare and Panzano quanto a Chianti, presents the 2021 vintage of the Chianti Tradizionale DOCG Terre proveniente da Prezano, obtained by only Sangiovese grapes cultivated quanto a the microzone of Prezano – Petriolo and Frutteto – Collina dry. Wine was born within one of the oldest farms quanto a Italy, with over six centuries of history and a polycolural approach that integrates wine production, landscape and hospitality. Terre proveniente da Prezano is the Chianti Tradizionale d’Unata according to Vignamaggio: an essential, clear and deeply territorial reading of the Chianti Tradizionale.
Year 2021
“Summer 2021 has been warm and soring, but the rains of the weeks before the harvest literally reinvigorated the plants, stopping the phenomena of tazza ,” says Francesco Naldi, Agriculture of Vignamaggio.
“Con the spring there had been a ice cream that had reduced the productions, but improving the quality of the final product. The grapes have poiché to a perfect maturation. Overall, an excellent vintage with peaks of excellence.”
The vineyards: Prezano – Petriolo, Frutteto – Collina dry
The name of the wine, Terre proveniente da Prezano, recalls the territory from which most of its grapes poiché: the Prezano – Petriolo schieramento, located quanto a the highest part of the company, between 340 and 400 meters above sea level. Here, acceso sides south-west and soils tendentially dissolved with a good presence of skeleton, derived from the farm of the boulder, Sangiovese takes acceso a balanced profile, with medium structure and a marked fruity expressiveness.
Frutteto – Collina dry parcels, exposed to east are instead subject to fresher and more ventilated conditions, especially quanto a the sorcen vintages. The soils are varied, belonging to the chaotic complex of the harsh clays and complete the picture with a component of finesse, verticality and tension, contributing to the overall harmony of the wine.
Vinification and refinement
Vinification takes place quanto a steel, with fermentation and maceration acceso the skins for about 10 days, during which reassembles and délestages are carried out to encourage a balanced extraction. After the variation, the wine completes the malolactic fermentation and refine quanto a oak barrels from 20 to 40 hectoliters, where it rests for 12-14 months. At least 3 months follow quanto a the bottle before marketing. The production is around 130,000 bottles.
Tasting quaderno
The wine is of an intense ruby red color. The varietal perfumes of Sangiovese – cherry and other small red fruits – accompanied by a slight boisé note, discreet and integrated, stand out. Con the mouth it is soft, enveloping, with silky tannins and a harmonious and persistent ending. A sincere classic Chianti, designed to naturally accompany the daily table, but also capable of surprising for its authenticity.
