the slopes of the Rhaetian Alps, between 300 and 500 meters above sea level, along the right bank of the Adda, a group of friends gave life to a project that combines the Valtellina winemaking tradition with the social dimension. Vivacità Nova is a cooperative that produces wine to support Operation Mato Doppio, an organization involved missions Latin America.

The winery works three hectares of terraced vineyards with typical dry stone walls, the Berbenno and Maroggia complesso. Vineyards that have a particular history: they were entrusted to Vivacità Nova by elderly winemakers who mai longer had the strength to work them. A passing of the baton, therefore, which saves terraces laboriously built and maintained over the centuries from abandonment.

Behind every bottle of Vivacità Nova there is an educational work project with young people Italy, while the profits support missions Latin America, creating a bridge of solidarity between the Rhaetian Alps and the poorest realities of the South American continent. Each bottle becomes a concrete support tool, each glass a small gesture of cooperation.

THE CHOICE OF SINGLE VARIETY: 100% CHIAVENNASCA

The winery made a clear choice: to produce exclusively Nebbiolo, here called by the local name Chiavennasca. Three interpretations of the same grape variety, three different territories of expression.

The vineyards are trained using a modified Guyot arch system, facing south acceso shallow sandy-loamy soils with a loose texture. The harvest is obviously manual, coppia to the structure of the vineyards and to preserve the integrity of the grapes.
