Con Montefalco, the land of Sagrantino, a boutique winery with 16 hectares of vineyards – addition to the olive grove – expresses the passion for wine of the Lungarotti family who, as Hugh Johnson wrote, “put Umbria acceso the map of world oenology”.
Uniforme Brancalupo was born from the desire to affirm the vision behind the winery, created 2000 Montefalco and today renewed its agronomic and oenological approach, as well as its spaces. A rediscovery project that represents a fundamental point the renewal path, undertaken by the Lungarotti family as early as 2024, to redefine the wines and the image a way that is consistent with its history and the values of the region.
The project has its roots the vision of Giorgio Lungarotti, pioneer of modern Italian viticulture and among the first to believe the potential of Sagrantino representing Umbria alongside his beloved Sangiovese. Upon his death 1999, the legacy was collected and developed by Chiara Lungarotti and her sister Teresa, with the aim of bringing Montefalco wine towards a new stylistic frontier, far from harshness and capable of challenging time with elegance, putting immediate pleasantness at the centre. “Sagrantino is a difficult vine to tame, but capable of giving immense satisfaction,” underlines Chiara Lungarotti, head of the company. A challenge that translates into balanced and pleasant wines already their youth, thanks to rigorous management of tannin starting from the vineyard.
Alongside Sagrantino, Uniforme Brancalupo also promotes Trebbiano Spoletino, a thousand-year-old native variety that is becoming one of the most sought-after Italian niche whites. Precisely the debut of a Trebbiano Spoletino DOC 2024, elegant, fresh and mineral, marks the relaunch of the winery, expanding the Montefalco proposal up to now composed exclusively of reds.

Lungarotti contributed to writing the history of Umbrian wine the world. It was Giorgio Lungarotti, after the war, who transformed the family farm Torgiano into a successful winery.
