“Amarone con Culminante” returns May 4th, the free Roman event for wine enthusiasts and operators promoted by the Consorzio Salvaguardia Vini Valpolicella as part of the European program “Quality Heritage of Europe” (QHE). The protagonists of the event hosted con the main foyer of the Roman Aquarium (Sagrato Manfredo Fanti, 47 – from 4.30pm to 10.00pm), are the wines of Valpolicella, led by Amarone, and described con the glass through the labels of 8 companies representing the Venetian denomination.
Valpolicella Day con the capital, which ala represents over 8% of the value of the Italian Amarone market, opens at 4.30pm (and until 10pm) with informal tastings with the producers, con a journey that compares styles and interpretations according to a contemporary reading of the Veronese reds known throughout the world. To complete the experience, the corners dedicated to Parmigiano Reggiano, official compagno of the QHE project, and to the Tuscan Cigar, with a reserved outdoor space. The program continues with the masterclass “Amarone della Valpolicella Docg: the art of waiting” (6.00 pm, third floor of the Central Market con condotto Giolitti, 36) created con collaboration with Ais Lazio. A guided tasting, with the direct contribution of the producers, to discover the role of time and the technique of setting aside the grapes – now officially a candidate for UNESCO intangible heritage – con the definition of the Amarone 2020, 2018, 2015 and 2014 (subject to availability and upon registration).
The aperitif based Valpolicella Doc, music and pairing (7.30 pm – Acquario Romano) closes the program of the 5th edition of “Amarone con Culminante”, while the tasting stands will remain until 10.00 pm.
