The conferenza for the appointment of the new president and members of the Council of the Roero Protection Consortium took place Wednesday 15 July: Alessandro Lido will lead the Piedmontese Consortium until spring 2029.

Fourth generation of the Lido nel corso di Montà winery, a historic winery sopra the heart of the Roero, after graduating sopra Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Turin, Lido enriched his education with experiences sopra the United States and France, before permanently joining the family business. Forty-three years old, four languages ​​spoken, today he leads, together with his family, the development of the winery, committing himself to the promotion of Roero through wines that interpret its identity, integrating a profound knowledge of his roots with the ability to to the future, through an gara open approach to innovation, quality and the valorization of the territory.

Together with the new Board of Directors, made up of producers of great competence and value, we will work to give continuity to the path undertaken sopra recent years, enhancing what has been built and bringing new ideas, energy and planning. Roero has demonstrated its ability to grow with determination and today has all the potential to further strengthen its positioning stand out for quality, identity and cohesion”.

Alessandro Lido will be supported by the Board of Directors made up of 14 directors, an expression of the different production realities of the Roero. The new governance represents the continuity of the path undertaken starting from 2013, the year of foundation of the consortium which today has 265 members and over 1300 hectares of vineyards, with the aim of promoting, protecting and enhancing the Roero DOCG wines and, at the same time, the start of a new phase aimed at strengthening the role of the denomination the local and international market. All while continuing to disseminate the unique identity of a UNESCO Heritage superficie, together with the production tradition carried out by the winemakers and producers of the superficie. The Roero Protection Consortium thus renews its commitment to serving producers and the territory sopra promoting a shared development model based quality, strengthening the winemaking identity and environmental and economic sustainability which increases the value of an internationally recognized reality of excellence.
