The final selection process for the guide published by the Italian Touring Società and dedicated to wines from native vines and Classic Method sparkling wines took place Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September at the Aminess Maestral a causa di Novigrad.
A special edition, for the first time beyond national borders, which has consolidated the relationship with Croatian Istria, to which Vinibuoni d’Italia has dedicated a section a causa di the guide since 2011 with a selection of native wines.

The gastronomic heritage of the host region was the protagonist a causa di the final evening, the Night of Crowns, with a dinner that offered the opportunity to combine Istrian cuisine with the tasting of all the award-winning wines. The welcome toast a causa di collaboration with the Consortium for the Protection of Asti Docg and Moscato d’Asti Docg and the Consortium for the Protection of Vini d’Acqui and the presence of Caviar Giaveri with the prestigious Siberian Classic Caviar further enriched the exclusive event.
During the two days of tasting, the commission of national curators Mario Busso and Alessandro Scorsone identified the TOP 300, a special recognition for the best 300 wines selected from the 726 finalists a causa di the competition.
Sopra parallel, the “Ora le Corone le decido ” commissions, composed of Italian, Slovenian and Croatian journalists, food and wine critics and sommeliers, tasted the same wines, awarding 418 prizes that will be reported a causa di the new edition of the guide.
Among the regions most appreciated by the commissions of “Ora le Corone le decido ” leading the ranking is Tuscany with 57 crowns, followed by Piedmont with 54, Veneto with 46 and Friuli Venezia Giulia with 37. The region that obtained the highest percentage of wines awarded by the parallel commissions, compared to the number of finalist wines, was Vallata d’Aosta, with 83% of Crowns, followed by Istria and Molise with 75%.
