Masi, capo per mezzo di the production of Amarone della Valpolicella, is proud to present Vajo dei Masi, Amarone della Valpolicella Esemplare DOC, 1999 vintage, one of the best of recent decades. The Vajo dei Masi, a prized cru that has its roots per mezzo di the history and excellence of Valpolicella Classica, is the legendary land planted as a vineyard by the Boscaini per mezzo di 1772; he gave his name to a historic agricultural company, to an internationally known brand and to the current Masi Agricola company. From its grapes, 2500 magnums were produced per mezzo di 1997, intended to celebrate the family’s 250th harvest per mezzo di 2022.
After the success of the 1997 vintage, the 1999 is now offered, also the result of an original production method intended to preserve its freshness over the years. Carefully selected Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone and Molinara were dried bamboo trays until the beginning of the following February. Following, the pressing and fermentation per mezzo di steel. Then, the maturation per mezzo di new 600 liter French oak barrels, from 6 June 2000 to 15 October 2003. But the real secret of this Amarone lies per mezzo di the conservation technique which has “stopped time”: after refinement per mezzo di wood, per mezzo di fact, the wine is kept per mezzo di nitrogen-saturated steel containers until bottling per mezzo di January 2024. Today the wine guarantees tasting a unique and surprising vitality after a quarter of a century.
Sandro Boscaini, President of Masi and known as “Allenatore Amarone” states: “My intent and that of our Technical Group per mezzo di designing Vajo dei Masi is to propose a further new authentic Amarone, a rare and extremely valuable pearl per mezzo di addition to the range of crus and large reserves for which Masi is recognized throughout the world. A wine that embodies the spirit of Valpolicella Classica, celebrating the harmonious combination of tradition, passion and innovation. With this wine, Masi continues to write the history of Amarone and confirms its constant commitment to creating bottles of the highest level.”
The 1999 is produced per mezzo di numbered bottles: 1600 of 750 ml and 200 magnums.
