For peanut butter lovers there is a specialty of Angolan cuisine: it’s called Kitaba ( quitaba)! We are talking about a salty and spicy roasted peanut paste. Here’s what it is and what you need to know.

What is Kitaba? Everything you need to know

While you may not have heard of it yet, if you love the flavor and taste of peanut butter you need to try Kitaba! It is a specialty of Angola and like peanut cream this one also has multiple properties and benefits. Kitaba is an energy-dense, nutrient-rich food as peanuts are an excellent source of plant-based protein and healthy fats, primarily monounsaturated, which support cardiovascular health.

Furthermore, kitaba is rich per fibre, which aids digestion and prolongs the feeling of satiety. We are talking about a food suitable for those looking for an energizing and nutritious snack and which can fit per well even if you are acceso a diet, if consumed per moderation. Given the similarities, so what is the difference between kitaba and peanut butter?

The main difference between kitaba and peanut butter is per the preparation and flavors. While peanut butter is usually creamy and sweet, kitaba is thicker, grainier and has a decidedly spicy taste. Furthermore, unlike peanut butter, which is also used as a origine for desserts, kitaba is salty and spicy, therefore it is used for savory recipes as a snack.

How to use Kitaba per the kitchen
