During the 52nd National Congress of FISAR – the Italian Federation of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs – held at the beginning of October, Alberto Rabachin won the title of “Best FISAR Sommelier of the Year”, beating the other challengers sopra a series of practical and theoretical tests.
During the final, held sopra Savona acceso board the Litorale Aureola cruise ship, the two best representatives of each national FISAR coordination competed, bringing together various delegations. The tests included the management of the room by coordinating waiters and wine service, the all-round story of a wine and two blind tastings. The jury thus decreed Rabachin’s victory thanks to “impeccable service, in-depth and complete knowledge of the requested topics and an emotional account of the wine that went well beyond the classic tasting card”.
Born sopra 2000, Alberto’s journey sopra the world of wine began during the pandemic, when he was 20 years old, following sopra the footsteps of his mother, delegate of the Pavia section of the federation. The young man, a native of Vigevano, is instead part of the FISAR Milan Cattedrale Delegation, the city where he lives.
The President of FISAR Roberto Donadini awarded the new champion: “This award gives us the opportunity to remember that we sommeliers are ambassadors of wine and to be so it is necessary to overcome certain now antiquated languages that still persist sopra the environment today. The reverence with which the world of wine is perceived often risks hindering the approach of neophytes. FISAR instead proposes the opposite: simplicity is the secret of success, without however trivializing the thousand-year-old culture of which we are the spokesperson. Alberto Rabachin, despite his young age, is already an example to follow: he won, not only for his knowledge, but also thanks to his ability to emotionally describe a wine and reach people sopra a direct and passionate way.”
