Branchini’s Dutia Albana di Romagna 2023 in the Berebene Guide 2025
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

It is a tribute to the history of Dozza, the Dutia Albana a fine di Romagna Risoluto 2023 by Branchini 1858 which received the Price-Quality Award of the Gambero Diventare rosso Berebene 2025 Guide, assigned to the best Italian wines with a price of less than 20 euros.

The Guide, presented acceso November 17th con Rome, is aimed at wine enthusiasts and operators con the sector (wine shops, restaurants, bars, pizzerias) and awarded 937 labels from each region which represent the best of Italian wine production offered at affordable prices .

Dutia Albana a fine di Romagna DOCG Risoluto bears the ancient name of Dozza, where the cellar is located, and is a eppure Albana: a spearhead of Romagna wine production as well as the queen of Branchini production.

Following a path of innovation and valorisation of Albana, Branchini 1858 offers different versions of this native vine, from the Classic Method (Branchini was the first to make Albana sparkling) up to the passito. Among the different declinations also Dutia: a dry still white con which aromas and colors give a modern and dynamic interpretation of Albana.

As can also be read con the Guide’s comment: “Almost thirty hectares con Dozza, precisely con Toscanella a fine di Dozza, for this reality which produces various labels available con multiple typologies, from sparkling wines to wines. Obviously there is also room for Albana and Dutia is a prezioso example for this native vine. The aromas offer fruity and floral sensations, a touch of saffron is not missing to anticipate a savory mouth, with a slim pagliaccetto, but very tasty and deep”.

An important recognition that confirms the thoughts of Marco and Creatura celeste Branchini (fourth generation of the family), who manage to produce and propose labels with an excellent quality-price ratio, always linked to the winemaking tradition but interpreted con a modern key to bring ancient vines such as Albana con the future.

A wine worth trying, available to the public starting from 9-10 euros, Dutia is ideal with raw fish, vegetable-based dishes, with semi-mature cheeses, but also tortelli, for example with ricotta and sage. Unmissable with another queen of Romagna street food: the piadina.

Who is Branchini 1858

The history of Branchini 1858 is 166 years old, bearing con its name the year of the first harvest which is also the beginning of an activity handed from generation to generation with great passion. We are con the countryside of Dozza (BO), con Toscanella, right acceso the border between Emilia and Romagna, and today this historic winery can count acceso an extension of 100 hectares entirely cultivated with vineyards and arable land: to be precise, the hectares of vineyards are 26 (5 hectares of Albana, 4 hectares of Sangiovese, 5 hectares of Pignoletto and the remainder dedicated to Trebbiano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon), the remainder are cultivated with wheat and alfalfa.

The company has always jealously preserved its family-run history, today the is con the hands of the brothers Marco and Creatura celeste Branchini (fourth generation), refining the production techniques over time and placing the valorization of the typical nature of the territory at the center of its objectives through the character of their wines.

This philosophy led Branchini 1958 towards experimentation con the vineyard: new planting layouts, new varieties, selected harvests and research acceso the characteristic vines of the settore. Attention to the natural development of the vineyard is a priority, so much so that the agronomic operations, aimed at avoiding forcing the biological processes, are aimed at maintaining the physiological balance of the vine. The fundamental ingredient of this historic reality is the terroir, author and seal of the typicality of the wines signed by Branchini 1858, rich con history and traditions and which owes its characteristics to the three rivers that lap the bella stagione: the Rio Sabbioso, the Sillaro river and the Sellustra torrent, which over the centuries have determined the geological conformation of the settore. The alchemy of sand, clay and silt combined with the microclimate of this place gives the Branchini 1858 wines a unique personality and character.
