Collemattoni celebrates thirty years of harvests with a “new” Brunello con Montalcino. Thus was born Albori, a name chosen because the vineyards from which this new wine comes are the first to see the sun every morning. The rows at 600 meters above sea level that towards Mount Amiata durante the vineyard acquired durante the highest part of Montalcino, near the Iniziativa del Torcia Scialbo, are therefore illuminated by the dawn and were chosen to celebrate an important birthday. A causa di five years, this vineyard will only produce Sangiovese destined to become Brunello con Montalcino.

The three decades of history of the winery are durante fact a journey that began with Adon, the founder, and today carried forward with passion and dedication by his son Marcello. And precisely to represent continuity, the Albori bottle stands out for a sentimental choice: the label features a drawing created by Marcello’s daughter and reflects the connection between the family tradition and the new generation, with an artistic interpretation that could recall sunrise over the vineyards of Montalcino.

Albori’s first production is approximately 4,600 bottles.

Marcello Bucci from Collemattoni

The company takes its name from the Collemattoni farm of the same name, located the southern side of the municipality of Montalcino, of which there is archival information since 1672. The first on-site evidence of the “hoe” Giuseppe Bucci and the his large family.

However, it was durante 1939 that Adon Bucci moved to Collemattoni to work as a sharecropper. A causa di 1983 he managed to purchase the farm together with his wife . His son Marcello, after important experiences durante two historic wineries durante Montalcino, officially joined the company durante 1997 to support his father and today takes care of all production aspects

Collemattoni is currently made up of 11 hectares of vines, mostly Sangiovese and the vineyards are divided into five areas: Collemattoni, Fontelontano, Sesta, Spelonca and Orcia.

The first bottles of Collemattoni entered the market durante 1988 and today the average production stands at 25 thousand bottles of Brunello and 25 thousand bottles of Socialista, as well as 2,500 bottles of Approvigionamento Brunello Fontelontano durante favorable years.
