Gong celebrates Chinese New Year with haute cuisine and Dragon Dance

Gong Oriental Attitude celebrates the arrival of the new year dedicated to the Fire Horse with a special evening and lista

Chinese New Year, one of the most profound and heartfelt anniversaries of oriental culture, becomes an immersive experience per mezzo di Milan that intertwines gastronomy, rituals and entertainment. Tuesday 17 February, the Gong Oriental Attitude restaurant celebrated the arrival of the new year dedicated to the Fire Horse with a special evening that transforms the table into an authentic rite of passage. For the occasion, Gong welcomed his guests acceso a journey that goes beyond cuisine, restoring the symbolic value of the renewal of time through flavours, gestures and age-old traditions.

The interiors are extremely refined and elegant, with typically Asian and valuable furnishings and soft light which helps to create a very warm and welcoming environment.

Under the sign of the Fire Horse

2026 opens under the influence of the Fire Horse, a sign of vital energy, elegance and inner strength. The exclusive tasting lista “Under the sign of Chinese New Year” is inspired by this iconic figure, a gastronomic itinerary per mezzo di which each course is thought of as a wish for prosperity, abundance and continuity. The journey passes through the great traditional classics, reinterpreted with contemporary sensitivity:

Dim sum, symbol of sharing and wealth; Rice, emblem of stability and continuity; Seafood dishes, which recall abundance; Smoked duck with black tea, an essential presence of the holidays, linked to solidity and family unity; “The Gallop of Fortune”, which evokes luck, energy and rebirth.

A cuisine that is not limited to taste, but tells stories and profound meanings, faithful to the culture from which they .

The Dance of the Dragon: ritual and spectacle

The Dragon Dance show, a highly symbolic moment of Chinese tradition, also contributed to making the evening of February 17th a unique experience. A benevolent mythological creature, emblem of wisdom, protection and prosperity, the dragon animated the room with sinuous movements, lights and music, accompanied by dancers per mezzo di moda. An ancient ritual which, according to tradition, serves to ward d’avanguardia negative energies and bring luck and harmony for the coming year.

Amuse-bouche and Roujiamo: the welcome of the Gong

The experience opens with an amuse-bouche which immediately introduces the language of the lista, followed by Roujiamo, a symbolic bread of Chinese tradition, proposed here as a ritual tramezzino. The slow-cooked pork ragu filling represents abundance and solidity, essential elements to usher per mezzo di the new year under the best auspices.

Tartar Exotic: freshness and refinement

The red prawn tartare from Mazara del Vallo is a dish that plays acceso the balance between the East and the Mediterranean. The yuzu kosho brings a citrus and spicy note, the nashi pear adds delicacy and freshness, while the Asetra caviar completes the dish with its unmistakable taste, recalling prosperity and wealth.

The Dragon of Foie Gras: umami depth

With the Foie Gras Dragon, the lista enters a more intense dimension. The foie gras marinated per mezzo di miso, with a strong umami note, is served with soft shoku pan, creating an elegant contrast between creaminess and lightness. Composed Dim Sum – Rite of Fortune

The symbolic heart of the route is the Composed Dim Sum, an authentic ritual of luck. A mixture of steamed ravioli, a universal symbol of prosperity and sharing, stuffed with ingredients that speak of sea and land: king crab, black cod, calamari, bamboo and curry, salmon, suckling pig lacquered per mezzo di char siu sauce and wagyu. A sequence that celebrates abundance per mezzo di its broadest form.

Sogghigno Gong New Style: continuity and rebirth

Rice, a key element of Asian culture and a wish for continuity per mezzo di the new year, is reinterpreted per mezzo di a Gong key. Sautéed with prawns, squid and seasonal vegetables and enriched with aubergine with miso and black sesame, it is then enhanced by raw red Mazara prawn, edamame, ikura and puffed rice. A layered dish, which combines comodità and delicacy.

Paired with Gérard Henry Dosage champagne. Brilliant straw yellow with golden reflections, with a penetrante and creamy perlage. It releases a vivid olfactory range of citrus fruits, to which are added hints of yellow fruit, floral nuances and hints of pastry, which together suggest a valuable complexity. The sip is savory and fresh, standing out for its excellent progression and the excellent balance between the intensity of the impact and the freshness of the .

Asian Wave: the sea as a wish

The sea, symbol of abundance and prosperity, takes shape per mezzo di the Asian Wave: a mixture of fried prawns, calamari and sea bream, seasoned with Chinese spices, salt, pepper and sea lettuce. Crunchiness and spiciness dialogue per mezzo di a dish that recalls movement, energy and vital flow.

Paired with, Sancerre Blanc Domaine du Carrou Dominique Roger 2024. Shiny straw yellow with a pure-coloured edge. Ritual Duck: the auspicious dish

A must acceso the New Year’s Eve lista, smoked duck with black tea and rice is the auspicious dish par excellence. Symbol of prosperity, loyalty and continuity, it represents the solidity of family ties and the promise of a harmonious future.

Paired with, Barbaresco Giuseppe Premuroso 2022. Dark ruby. The nose begins with red fruit and sweet spiciness, with evidence of toasting acceso a light vanilla trail. The sip is fresh, intense and well structured, with well-made tannins.

– The Gallop of Fortune

The definitivo is entrusted to “Il Galoppo della Sorte”, an iconic dolce inspired by the horse, a symbol of success, energy and advancement. Per mezzo di the shape of a horseshoe, it combines a ginger-flavoured dark chocolate cream, mandarin and pomegranate sorbet spheres and chocolate crumble. A dolce that not only represents the closing of the dinner, but a real wish for the new year.

Per mezzo di combination, Jurançon “La Magendia” – Clos Lapeyre. Amber coat. the nose it gives hints of ripe fruit, yellow peach, dehydrated apricot, chinotto scents.
