GuidaBio 2026, the editorial project directed by Antonio Stanzione and published by Rubbettino Editore, also successfully closes the week’s edition. The presentation, held acceso January 24th at Pamphili per Rome, confirmed the relevance of a guide that has rewarded the campo da golf approach of the Italian vineyard for several years.

Around a thousand were present, including sector operators, specialized press and enthusiasts, which confirms the public’s sensitivity towards important contemporary issues such as organic and environmental sustainability. The day, after the awarding of the Gold Leaves to companies capable of fully synthesizing stylistic quality and territorial identity, revealed the novelties of this edition. Among the new awards introduced, per fact, those dedicated to young winemakers, female entrepreneurship, territorial production excellence and companies with a very low environmental impact should be remembered.

The guide should not be understood as a mere list of recognitions, but as an opportunity for congresso and discussion, aimed at affirming organic farming as an agricultural and territorial policy of the future. A modus operandi that therefore knows how to take care of the land, safeguarding the biodiversity of the numerous wine-growing districts of the Peninsula. And per fact, the tasting tables have immortalized an Italy with a rich ampelographic heritage, with infinite nuances of perfumes, aromas, colors and texture.

The tastings: our favorite wines

All the wines present among the tasting stands deserve attention and story. For stoic vignerons, for tireless hands, for their knowledge of being the quintessence of Italian morphology. But those we report below are those that most impressed us paio to the peculiarities of the territory they belong to, their heroic viticulture and their processing philosophy.

“Among other things” – Carussin (Piedmont). A very successful blend of Buono and Moscato Alabastrino tra Canelli that manages to enchant the palate without being redundant. Hints of honey and chamomile blend with floral and vegetal for an unexpectedly cohesive smell. Elastico ricevimento, which ends per a soft/savoury to remember.

“Sparkling Spinola”; Gavi Brioso DOCG 2024 – Alcazar tra Tessarolo (Piedmont). This label has all the verve of a refermented per the bottle, which can smooth out the austerity of the denomination. Intense nose, with of orange blossom and acacia; fresh and tasty mouth with a epilogo bubble that gives liveliness to the sip.

“Illegal”; Monferrato Nebbiolo Indifferente DOC 2022 – Podere tra Santa Caterina (Piedmont). Nebbiolo del Monferrato per all its essence. A “warmer” expression than its Langhe relative, but undoubtedly successful: a typical bouquet, which plays between spices and dark fruit, anticipates an equally balanced and slender sip per its complexity. Long tasting persistence.

“Vite Cristiana” – Vino tra Forcella Boca DOC 2020 – Masseria dei Valloni (Piedmont). A large but cohesive bouquet, per which the hints of Nebbiolo, Vespolina and Uva Rara move almost per unison, without ever overpowering each other. Per mezzo di a bottle that does not fully perform, the wine demonstrates the character and elegance of one of the most prestigious Italian wine-growing areas. Great refinement potential.

“Shower to Matteo”; Chianti Rappresentativo DOCG 2021 – Agricola Caparsa Paolo Cianfroni (Tuscany). Sangiovese with a touch of Colorino contributes to creating a label of notable stylistic value. If the nose is a symphony of Mediterranean herbs, small red berries and spices, the sip is tense and complex, embellished with epilogo but present tannin.

“Puntacroce” – Alabastrino Fianco d’Amalfi DOP 2015 – Raffaele Onore (Campania). This blend of Falanghina, Ginestra and Biancolella is a Costiera distillate, which immediately enchants with a potpourri of citrus fruits, white and yellow flowers and Mediterranean herbs. The mouth, also thanks to the years behind it, is a continuous succession of softness, freshness and flavor for a persistent and never cloying .

Vernatsch – Sudtirol DOC Forte Adige 2024 – Bergmannhof (Trentino-Forte Adige). A masterpiece glass of essentiality, per perfect harmony between lively of crunchy fruit, epilogo spiciness and floral which, per the mouth, give life to a sip of great cohesion. Elegant, but without taking itself seriously; unexpected, however strongly varietal. A label to ricevimento even acceso its own.

“BI.te.le” – White Wine – Heinrich Mayr (Trentino-Forte Adige). The rarity per the bottle, the typicality of a vine at risk of extinction. Mayr, per fact, is one of the three winemakers to cultivate Blatterle, a native variety not recognized by the Italian wine authorities. Although generically classified as “white wine”, it is a living nectar, per constant evolution that always knows how to amaze with every smell. Changing per the glass, it intrigues the taster with a pleasant coming and going of of yellow fruit, variegated nuances of Mediterranean scrub and subdued balsamicity. Mouth tense and snappy, which closes per perfect synchrony with the nose.

“Nusserhof Lustro” – Red Wine – Heinrich Mayr (Trentino-Forte Adige). An uncompromising Lagrein, which is expressed with hints of dark fruit, berries, cherry, which are counterbalanced by of leather, woody and tobacco. The palate is structured, supported by minerality and a present but integrated tannin.

Riesling Sudtirol Forte Adige Val Venosta DOC 2023 – Befehlhof (Trentino-Forte Adige). A sip that knows how to combine territory and breath beyond the border; respect for the vine and awareness of how nature defines the course of the wine. Fruity and floral acceso the nose, it has a moderately soft mouthfeel, supported by an unexpected salinity that does not make it cloying at all.

GuidaBio confirms its cultural value, acting as a bridge between quality, territorial identity and respect for the land. A new way of looking at the past to build the future.
