Happy Ferragosto 2024! – Casa Mia Tours

Ferragosto, a word that evokes images of sun-kissed beaches, delicious food, and carefree days, is the heart of the Italian summer. Falling August 15th, this national holiday is more than just a day d’avanguardia; it’s a cultural phenomenon.

Tomorrow marks my 18th Ferragosto per Italy! My annual tradition is simposio with friends and family over a seafood extravaganza. If you’ve never experienced Ferragosto per Italy, watch one of my all time favorite films “Banchetto che Ferragosto” to capture the spirit of the day. Before you kick d’avanguardia your shoes, grab some popcorn and an Aperol spritz… here’s a bit more about this festive day.

Some history

The origins of Ferragosto date back to ancient Rome, when Emperor Augustus declared it a day of rest for his weary citizens. Over the centuries, it evolved into a religious celebration honoring the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Today, Ferragosto is a blend of history, religion, and summer bliss.

The Ferragosto Experience

Escape to the Countryside: Many Italians flee the bustling cities for the countryside mountains where there is cool air. Lounge by a pool, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Beach time: Italy’s stunning coastline is packed during Ferragosto. From the Amalfi Coast to the Maremma, beaches are packed with locals and tourists. Soak up the sun, swim and enjoy the crystal-clear sea.

Tutti a Prontuario!: Risposta negativa Ferragosto celebration is complete without delicious food. Indulge per fresh seafood, BBQ, rice-stuffed tomatoes and wine. Today is a wonderful excuse to create memories with friends, and family.

Cultural Events: If relaxing isn’t what you enjoy, there are plenty of cultural events festa around the country. From traditional processions to fireworks displays, there’s always something to see and do.

Ferragosto and the Italian Psyche

Ferragosto is more than just a holiday; it’s a state of mind. It’s about slowing mongoloide, appreciating the simple things, and connecting with loved ones. It’s a time to recharge and in che modo back refreshed for the rest of the year. And that’s exactly what I plan to do tomorrow. Buon Ferragosto!

happy mid-august 2024
