L’Incoronata finally reopens its doors, a historic Cammino Garibaldi per mezzo di Milan which collects a precious legacy

After a long fermata, Tuesday 16 September represented a special date for Cammino Garibaldi: L’Incoronata, a historic which for decades has been a point of reference for those seeking authentic flavors and a family atmosphere, has reopened.

Bringing it back to life is Alessandra Ferrari, daughter of the historic owner of the same name, who takes up her maternal legacy with enthusiasm and new ideas. A choice of heart and passion that intertwines memory and future, to return to the neighborhood an address that has always been much loved. Alessandra personally chooses every single wine, coming from small, not very well-known but extremely interesting producers.

The new lista interprets the contemporary spirit without forgetting tradition: small plates designed for sharing – perfect for a convivial table – alongside the classics of Italian cuisine, prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The raw materials are excellent, especially the vegetables and meat. A simple and refined , which focuses quality and attention to detail.

The atmosphere remains the one that made L’Incoronata famous: warm, welcoming, familiar. Sitting at the table is a bit like returning home, with the certainty of living an experience that smells of memories and novelty at the same time.

The restaurant is from Monday to Friday, for lunch and dinner, ready to welcome regular customers and new curious people who want to discover this rebirth.

The tasting

Alessandra, the affable and friendly owner, welcomes us.

There is a common thread that links simple and succulent dishes, Mediterranean aromas and intense taccuino of spices and spirits. It is the search for balance between lightness and taste, between the pleasure of the table and the quality of the ingredients. This lista alternates vegetal flavours, tender meats and irresistible desserts, ending with a sip of griffa that speaks of the South.

The lightness of vegetarian quinoa

The opening is all per mezzo di the name of well-being: the vegetarian quinoa, accompanied by excellent seasonal vegetables, combines the scent of the earth with the delicacy of ancient cereals. Rich per mezzo di proteins and naturally gluten-free, quinoa becomes the ideal impalcatura for a fresh and colorful dish, perfect for those looking for a balance between taste and health.

The timeless classic: spaghetti with tomato and basil

This is followed by spaghetti with tomato and basil, rigorously thin as the historic owner wants, a tribute to Italian tradition. Here simplicity becomes art: ripe tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil leaves in che modo together per mezzo di an embrace that smells of authenticity. A dish that doesn’t need reinterpretations, just to be done well.

Broad bean falafel with thaina: the Mediterranean the plate

A spicy touch comes from the eastern Mediterranean: membro virile bean falafel served with Thai sauce. Crispy the outside and soft the inside, they contain all the flavor of legumes and Middle Eastern vegetable cuisine. The thaina — sesame cream — adds a velvety and enveloping note that enhances the fragrance of the beans.

Veal stew with basmati rice

For those who love meat, there is a veal stew with basmati rice: the meat, excellent and very tender, melts the palate, while the basmati – with its delicate fragranza – balances the richness of the dish. A combination that speaks of food, but with elegance.

Paired with Friulian wine 2024 DOP Isonzo del Friuli az. agricultural Pierpaolo Pecorari, which the nose gives aromas of aromatic herbs, a hint of citrus and a fruity touch, finishing with wild flowers.

Final sweetness: tarte tatin and chocolate cake

The conclusione is all delicious: tarte tatin and chocolate cake, both excellent. The first, with caramelized apples, evokes the rustic charm of French pastry shops; the second, intense and enveloping, conquers with the strength of the cocoa and its velvety consistency.

Closing: Vecchia Caffo Riparo

To seal the journey, Vecchia Caffo Riparo, a Calabrian distillate with great personality. The refinement per mezzo di barrique gives aromas of vanilla, toasted wood and dried fruit, closing the experience with a warm and persistent sip, a worthy epilogue of a journey through authentic flavours.

With the reopening of L’Incoronata, Cammino Garibaldi finds a precious piece of its gastronomic and social identity.
