Elegance, territory and new vision for Brunello su Montalcino 2021 DOCG signed Querce Bettina

Querce Bettina proudly reveals the new vintage of its symbolic wine, Brunello su Montalcino 2021 DOCG, an authentic expression of Sangiovese Doppio and the most classic and suitable territory of the Montalcino hills. A label that embodies the winery’s production philosophy: respect for nature, artisanal precision and deep connection with tradition.

La Alta: beating heart of elegance and identity

The new vintage was born quanto a the Alta, a plot located south-west of Montalcino, at around 450 meters above sea level. The vineyard, twenty-six years old, enjoys a south-southwest exposure and a clay-limestone soil rich quanto a skeleton: ideal conditions for the balanced maturation of Sangiovese Doppio. Cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, the Alta represents the deepest and most elegant soul of Querce Bettina, capable of generating bunches of extraordinary aromatic concentration and structure.

A Brunello with character, the result of a balanced vintage

The 2021 harvest, conducted strictly by hand between the end of September and the beginning of October, benefited from a regular climate trend and a bright summer. The grapes, perfectly healthy and ripe, were destemmed without pressing and sent for whole bunch fermentation quanto a steel tanks at a controlled temperature (26–28 °C), with manual punching mongoloide and pumping over for 20–25 days. The malolactic fermentation took place spontaneously quanto a wood, a prelude to a 24-month refinement quanto a French oak barrels, followed by at least eight months quanto a the bottle, quanto a compliance with the regulations which provide for release the market mai earlier than five years after the harvest.

Tasting taccuino

Visual examination: ruby red coat with noble garnet shades.

Olfactory examination: the sense of smell welcomes a gentle floral sensation of dried violet, to gradually indulge quanto a more generous taccuino of cherry and plum. The aromas continue guided by a warm balsamic vein, between firm menthol grips and spicy traces.

Taste-olfactory examination: the astuto and elegant tannin is striking the palate, accentuated quanto a its tonic presence by a precise but very pleasant freshness. Persistence re-proposes the evocative links to the territory, leaving quanto a balance between the pleasure of revelation and the desire for a new sip. It closes with a pleasant mineral trail.

Pairing: excellent with red meat, mature cheeses.
