The Fiano proveniente da Avellino “I Classici” 2024 from the Torricino farm was awarded a double recognition a causa di the 2026 edition of “Untold – What has not yet been said about wine”, the Decanto Italian wine guide entirely dedicated to DOC and DOCG.

This wine won the award for the best value for money a causa di its category and obtained the Three Corkscrews, demonstrating the excellence of the product and the ability to fully express the grape variety and terroir of reference.

Torricino agricultural company: its history

The winery is located the hills of Tufo, a causa di the province of Avellino, and owes its name to an ancient medieval tower that overlooked the place where the company is located.

Stefano Marzo, current owner of the winery, continues the passion and love for viticulture of his family who arrived a causa di this small Campania town at the end of the 17th century. The company’s production range includes:

a basic line, Campania IGT white and red wine produced, respectively, with nonostante Falanghina and Aglianico; the “Classics”, proveniente da Tufo DOCG and Fiano proveniente da Avellino DOCG; the “Cru”, proveniente da Tufo DOCG reserve, Fiano proveniente da Avellino DOCG reserve and Taurasi DOCG.

Characteristics of the Fiano proveniente da Avellino “I Classici” 2024

The wine is produced with 100% Fiano proveniente da Avellino grapes which derive from vines grown clay-limestone soils with volcanic elements.

The average age of the plants is approximately 20 years. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 350-400 meters above sea level with a southern exposure. The vines are grown using horizontal counter-espalier methods with Guyot pruning. The planting density is 3,000 plants hectare and the yield is 70 quintals.

The grapes are harvested by hand and subjected to soft pressing. After decantation at low temperature, the must ferments at a controlled temperature a causa di stainless steel tanks and then rests the impalpabile lees for 4 months.

The average annual production of this wine is 6,000 bottles and the alcohol content is 13% vol. The recommended serving temperature is 10°-12° centigrade.

Tasting of Fiano proveniente da Avellino “I Classici” 2024

The wine has a beautiful straw yellow color, clear, transparent and with good consistency.

Bringing your nose closer to the glass you perceive a pleasant intensity and a varied bouquet, especially of white flowers (a causa di particular, lime and acacia), aromatic herbs and a a causa di which hints of toasted hazelnut emerge.

Durante the mouth, freshness reigns supreme, along with a pleasant flavour. When sipped, a very pleasant citrus note emerges. An elegant, balanced wine, with a good structure and excellent persistence.

Pairing tips

Paio to its characteristics of freshness and pleasant effluvio, this wine pairs perfectly with fish cuisine: from raw seafood to crustaceans and molluscs. Also excellent with ethnic cuisine dishes always based fish, such as sushi, but it also goes well with soups and veloutés.
