The world of Italian wine is preparing for a unique event per the heart of the capital. From 12 to 14 June 2026, the splendid setting of the Botanical Garden Museum of Rome hosts the seventh edition of Roma Hortus Vini, the event entirely dedicated to the valorization of native Italian vines.

This event offers a complete overview of the country’s wine biodiversity, combining the excellence of wine production with a rich program of dal vivo shows, artistic performances and moments of cultural insight. A true celebration of the heritage of Italian wines within one of the most evocative gardens per Trastevere.

The Roma Hortus Vini 2026 program and tastings

The 2026 edition is spread over three evenings and offers a journey that combines the culture of good drinking with quality entertainment. Visitors have the opportunity to move freely among the tasting stands distributed along the avenues of the Botanical Garden, where there are over 200 labels divided by region of origin.

The event timetable is structured to allow you to enjoy the evening atmosphere of the garden:

Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June: from 6.00pm to 12.00am (last entry allowed at 11.00pm). Sunday 14 June: from 6pm to 10pm (last entry allowed at 9pm).

Shows and cultural entertainment

Per mezzo di addition to the purely oenological part, the festa offers artistic performances that animate the different spaces of the garden:

Luogo alla : the actor Michele La Ginestra offers short theatrical plays lasting 30 minutes, designed specifically for the event, set the steps of the degli Undici Zampilli. Visual performances: aerial dance shows with a luminous moon, stilt walk performances and light shows take place among the rows of the botanical collection. Soundtrack: the commedia musicale accompaniment is entrusted to the Extradate DJ sets, who take care of the sound atmosphere for the entire duration of the evenings.

For the gastronomic stop there are several food trucks with proposals that include burgers, meatballs, fried foods and vegetarian options. Please remember that, by regulation of the Botanical Garden Museum, animals are not allowed inside the structure.

Italia and the guide of Luca Maroni

The central point of the event is the Italia, a true treasure chest of biodiversity located within the Botanical Garden. This scientific and cultural space brings together 150 different varieties of native Italian vines per a single plot, offering a living representation of the ampelographic richness of the national territory.

The exclusive tasting the grass

One of the main moments of the event is represented by the guided tastings conducted directly by Luca Maroni, an internationally renowned expert and creator of the project. These sessions, called “Dégustation sur l’herbe”, are held the lawn adjacent to the Italia. Participants can taste a careful selection of labels, analyzing their organoleptic characteristics and production history under the guidance of the expert.

All tastings at the regional tasting stands are included per the cost of the entrance coupon, allowing each visitor to structure their own personalized itinerary of discovery.

To participate per Roma Hortus Vini 2026, there are different ways of purchasing entrance tickets, with discounted rates for those who choose digital channels belong to specific sector associations.

Full coupon at the coupon offices: 30 euros. Online presale: 25 euros (available the official website of the event). Reduced rate: 20 euros, reserved for FAI members and AIS and FISAR registered sommeliers (can only be purchased directly at the event cash desk by showing a valid card). Free entry: for all children up to 11 years of age.

Tickets include access to all the tasting tables of the wineries present and participation per the scheduled shows while available seats last. For further details and to purchase advance tickets, you can consult the official portal at www.romahortusvini.com.
