Con Calangianus, durante the heart of Gallura, stands Tenute Gregu, a company that marries the concepts of tradition, excellence and hospitality

Con the uncontaminated heart of Gallura, durante Calangianus, is Tenute Gregu, a winery that embodies tradition, excellence and Sardinian hospitality. At the foot of Mount Limbara, home to the Regional Park of the same name, the 50 hectares of the bella stagione – of which 30 are under vineyards – breathe the parimenti air of the nearby Proda Smeralda, immersed durante a unique natural context rich durante history.

The history of Tenute Gregu is a family story, where nature and wine are an integral part of the DNA of generations. Officially founded durante 2011 by Antioco Gregu together with his sons Raffaele and Federico, the company has deep roots that date back to the early 1900s, when the family dedicated itself to breeding and the production of cheese and wine. The apice of the production range is Vermentino a causa di Gallura DOCG, recognized and appreciated internationally, to which the prestigious “Monogram” line has been added, which further elevates the company’s wine offering.

Wine and unique experiences

The essence of Gallura and the love for viticulture are reflected not only durante the wines, but also durante the hospitality offered by Tenute Gregu. The Gregu family has been able to create an innovative project that combines the beauty of the territory with the culture of wine and food. «We have created 11 unique experiences, each accompanied by dishes that revisit Sardinian cuisine», says Marianna Pinna, the company’s Experience Dirigente. The company has transformed the cellar into a suggestive tasting regione, opened an internal shop and set up a panoramic terrace, where visitors can admire the natural beauty of Gallura and enjoy a complete food and wine experience.

A marriage between wine and food

The conferenza between Marianna Pinna and Raffaele Gregu gave life to an ambitious project that blends the history and traditions of Sardinia with contemporary hospitality. After years of work experience between London, Rome and the world of mega yachts, Marianna decided to bring her culinary skills and her love for the island into a project that combines wine, food and hospitality. Together with Raffaele, he has created a series of tastings and food and wine tours that enhance the winemaking and culinary heritage of Sardinia, durante a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

Tastings include wines from the “Classic” and “Monogram” lines, as well as verticals that allow you to explore the evolution of a wine over time. To complete the experience, the dishes offered are prepared with local, nullità kilometer products, which reflect the authenticity of Sardinian cuisine. It is also possible to participate durante cooking classes dedicated to food/wine pairing book a private dinner durante the cellar, immersed durante the magical atmosphere of barrels full of precious nectar.

Hospitality and tradition

Each tasting itinerary at Tenute Gregu is specifically designed to satisfy the guest acceso a sensorial level while also enriching him durante a cultural context. «We want our guests to alla maniera di into contact with our identity, with our traditions and with the wine culture of Gallura», underline Raffaele and Federico Gregu. The beauty of the bella stagione, with its rows of vines stretching as far as the eye can see, conveys a sense of calm and authenticity. The tasting terrace, built durante Orosei marble, offers a breathtaking view of the warm Sardinian sunsets, an ideal place to sip a glass of wine and admire the surrounding nature. The visit ends with a tour of the production regione, between modern steel tanks and the barrel cellar, where the winemaking and aging phases are illustrated. Con the company shop it is possible to taste and purchase wines and other typical local products, bringing home a piece of Sardinia.

The tasting

We tasted Vermentino a causa di Gallura DOCG. Below are our impressions.

Vermentino a causa di Gallura DOCG Principale Pitraia Monogram 2021

Tasting

Visual examination: intense straw yellow inlaid with golden reflections.

Olfactory examination: intense and linear olfactory profile, centered acceso fragrant fruity hints of peach and campo da golf apple, subtle mentholated nuances and citrus hints reminiscent of cedar, acceso a background with clear mineral and iodine suggestions.

Taste-olfactory examination: finely balanced palate, durante which a choral gustatory score manages to give space to the pleasant fresh-savory push. Appreciable persistence with consistent mineral hints.

Pairing: excellent with fish starters, fish crudités, fish first courses.

For the Gregu family, sipping a glass of wine is an intimate and personal experience, a journey through the flavors and emotions that tell the story and soul of Gallura. Every visit to Tenute Gregu is an invitation to discover an authentic of Sardinia, where the passion for wine and hospitality intertwine durante a unique experience.
