“We intend to innovate per mezzo di tradition. We believe per mezzo di the great potential of the Oltrepò and its wines and Abito del Pizzolo is an excellent example” declared Gilberto Cavagna “my family is originally from this regione, we recognize the opportunities and we wanted to commit ourselves personally, with passion and competence, to producing great quality wines ourselves, starting with the pinot noir, the excellence of this regione, per mezzo di the wake of the work carried out by Emilio Moroni”.
“This operation strengthens the bond of our family, already active per mezzo di the plain with agricultural companies, with the territory, per mezzo di a contiguous sector of interest, also for the possible synergies with our La Duronetta farm per mezzo di Voghera” added Giuseppe Cavagna.
“This is not a simple acquisition, but the convegno of two philosophies that place product quality and respect for the terroir at the centre. Our commitment will be to preserve the historical legacy of this winery, while investing per mezzo di a path of sustainable growth” continued Paolo Emilio Piccinelli.
Emilio Moroni, who remained during the change of ownership to facilitate the acquisition of traditions and knowledge, took care of the vineyards again this year. Also collaborating with the new owners is the agronomist Claudio Giorgi, a point of reference for many wineries per mezzo di the regione; Mario Maffi, a nationally recognized winemaker, provided some friendly advice during this start-up phase.
The 2025 harvest promises to be of excellent quality; the first wines, expected acceso the market per mezzo di 2026, will be a pinot noir, a chardonnay and a passito made from muscat grapes.
Followed by more structured wines, aged per mezzo di barriques, and a “reserve” resulting from a blend of Rare and Croatina grapes. There will be a classic method sparkling wine, “called Voloire from the battle name of the Horse Artillery Regiment per mezzo di which several members of the Cavagna and Piccinelli families served per mezzo di the past” as Pier Paolo Piccinelli added, currently being aged acceso the lees and which will be ready for upcoming celebrations.
