Considering that the year of its birth (2012) Signorvino, the brand name established by the Veronesi household – owner of the previous Calzedonia group, relabelled Oniverse given that December 2023 – has actually grown greatly. To date, the white wine store with kitchen area has 38 sales points situated in the primary Italian cities and, after the statement at Vinitaly of the opening of a sales point in Pompeii by the fall, the very first in the South of the Peninsula, the brand name inaugurated on Thursday 20 June Podere Guardia Grande, winery in the north-western side of Sardinia.

A more action for the group which, after having actually committed itself to direct production in Lazio with Tenimenti Leone in the Castelli Romani local park and in the Valpolicella denomination with the La Giuva winery – a business established by the previous coach Alberto Malesani, a popular face of football Italian–, lands in Alghero with a cellar, white wine store, white wine tourist paths and 25 hectares of vineyard for the production of Vermentino, Cannonau and Cagnulari (native red grape range coming from exactly from these locations, in the Alghero DOC spec given that 1995).

” We will work our vineyards appreciating this generous and special area– remarks Federico Veronesi, CEO of Podere Guardia Grande– without using chemical herbicides, as an effect of what must now be a “regular” technique to farming. The concern is to do it according to the concepts of sustainability, regard for the area, commitment to the vineyard: we want to provide the possibility of finding the charm and originality of Sardinia, of the superb view of Capo Caccia”.

The modern-day winery, developed by the Sardinian studio CasciuRango architetti, “blends” into the common panorama of these lands in the province of Sassari, with the option of utilizing the ruby red color– which shows the shade of the surrounding soils– and a structure divided into 3 floorings (established not in height however towards the underground) that enables you to immerse yourself in the terroir where the vines grow, which here take pleasure in the breeze of the Mistral bringing the saltiness from the coast of the bay of Porto Conte. Antonio Marras, a stylist and designer from Alghero, finished the interiors to have overall synergy with the city of Alghero and its lands.

The barrel cellar, the grape aging space and the reception space (the just flooring that emerges from the underground) are the areas where it is possible to see the wine making approach up close and taste the 3 labels presently produced by Podere Guardia Grande: Saldenya– Pure Vermentino di Sardegna, Nascimento– 100% Cannonau– and Alghè, a bottle committed to Cagnulari which, as can be seen from the name, admires Alghero, the city of coral.
