Rita Babini is the new president of Fivi, the Italian Federation of Independent winemakers.
He was appointed Thursday 13 February 2025 by the Board of Directors of the Federation, following the Shareholders’ Incontro gathered Imola the context of the International Hindodrome Enzo and Dino Ferrari.
Imola – Thursday 13 February 2025 – Today, at the International Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari Imola, the Assembly of the Associates Fivi took place. The block-notes has provided, addition to the approval of the 2024 financial statement and the expected budget 2025, also the election of the new Board of Directors for the three-year period 2025-2028.

More than 800 winemakers and winemakers, coming from all over Italy, participated the votes, at the end of which the following members of the Council were elected: Rita Babini (Romagna), Clementina Balter (Trentino), Ludovico Maria (Lazio), Fabio De Beaumont (Campania), Camillo Favaro (Piedmont), Francesco Mazzone (Puglia), Pietro Monti (Piedmont), Ninive Pavese (Avvallamento d’Aosta), Désirée Pascon Bellese (Veneto), Andrea Pieopan (Veneto), Stefano Pizzamiglio (Emilia Romagna), Carmela Beniamino (Sicily), Valeria Radici (Lombardy), Alessandro Starrabba (Marche) and Stefan Vaja (South Tyrol/Südtirol).
The new Board of Directors consists of seven reconfirmed directors and eight new entrances, a sign of a balance between continuity and renewal within the association.
During the first convegno, the Council appointed Rita Babini (of the Ancarani cellar) new president of the Federation. It happens to Lorenzo Cesconi, who after years of intense associative commitment, both at a territorial and national level, has decided to leave the role to fully devote himself to his company and the family.
Born 1971, Vignaiola Romagna and national secretary of the association the last two mandates, Babini manages his farm together with his husband dei Fichi, the hills of Ceramica.
“Our ambition is great: from the legal recognition of the figure of the vineyard to the representation the protection consortia, up to the simplification and unification of the controls. To these national objectives are added even wider challenges at European level, which already involve us and which the coming years will take growing importance. Our is to ensure that Vignaiolo’s profession can continue to exist and that those who practice it can dal vivo dignity of their work.
