Beviamoci Mezzogiorno Roma is back, the reference event the capital dedicated to promoting the wines of Southern Italy. The seventh edition will take place acceso Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2026 the prestigious rooms of The Westin Excelsior Rome (Altrove Vittorio Veneto 125), marking a new and significant step forward the growth path of the event.

Born from the passion and commitment of Marco Cum (Rifornimento Immenso) and Andrea Petrini, with the technical direction of Luciano Pignataro, Beviamoci Mezzogiorno Roma recounts the evolution of Southern Italian viticulture every year, establishing itself as a lively and dynamic observatory, capable of capturing changes, identities and new excellences.

During the two days of the event, the public – made up of advanced enthusiasts, sector operators, restaurateurs, wine merchants and journalists – will be able to meet an increasingly careful selection of companies. Alongside structured and historical realities, the presence of small artisan winemakers, authentic interpreters of the territories and denominations, is growing. A production quadro generale that reflects the vitality and maturity reached today by Southern Italian viticulture.

The cultural heart of the event will be, as per giusti motivi tradition, the thematic masterclasses, conducted by Luciano Pignataro, designed to delve deeper into the vines, territories and significant vintages, a dissemination process that Beviamoci Mezzogiorno has been carrying out continuously for over seven years.

The events will start acceso Saturday 31 January at 2.00 pm with a masterclass created collaboration with the Salice Salentino Protection Consortium, dedicated to one of the historic DOCs of Puglia and the symbolic Negroamaro vine, through a tasting journey that enhances its identity and evolutionary capacity.

At 5.30 pm there will be a masterclass acceso the wines of Etna, organized by the Consorzio con Etna DOC, the presence of the producers and the Director Maurizio , to talk about the identity, districts and evolution of one of the most dynamic territories of Italian wine.

Sunday 1st February will continue at 2.00 pm with a masterclass dedicated to Incolto con Manduria, focused acceso the evolution of the vine and the different stylistic interpretations.

At 4.30 pm there will be space for Calabria, with a masterclass dedicated to the Lido degli Dei. Through the tasting of wines obtained from Zibibbo and Magliocco Canino. The incontro will talk about the productive identity, vitality and future prospects of an emerging denomination that is decisively looking towards the birth of the DOC

To close the program, at 7.00 pm, a masterclass acceso Etna sparkling wines, created collaboration with the Etna Sparkling Wines Association, dedicated to one of the most interesting and growing expressions of the Sicilian volcano.

A central element of the 2026 edition will also be the “Eccellenze con Beviamoci Mezzogiorno” wine competition, reserved for participating companies. The wines will be evaluated through blind tastings by a qualified jury chaired by Luciano Pignataro, who will award diplomas of merit to the labels deemed most representative terms of quality, territorial identity and expressiveness.

Alongside the Excellences, the “Ambasciatori con Beviamoci Mezzogiorno Roma” award will also return, a recognition dedicated to restaurants, wine shops and wine bars which, over the course of the year, have stood out for their concrete commitment to valorising Southern Italian wines within their menus and offerings to the public. An award that strengthens the link between production and catering, underlining the fundamental role of service professionals spreading the culture of wine.

«Viticulture Southern Italy is experiencing a phase of extraordinary maturity – states Luciano Pignataro – made up of greater awareness, increasingly defined identities and an average quality that is now stably high. Beviamoci Mezzogiorno Roma grows together with this movement: it grows the selection of companies, the dialogue between large companies and small winemakers, and it also grows its positioning, arriving an iconic location like the Westin Excelsior. It is the sign of an event that continues to evolve, remaining faithful to its cultural vocation.”
