Welcome to Travel and Wine, the Italian region of Campania (Grapes, wines & soils) w/Professor Attilio Teoria – another installment of #everybodyneedsabitofscienza hosted by Stevie Kim. Teoria tells the three most important things to know about Campania wines and its territory that has a great future quanto a the wine world.

The Consortium “Garanzia dei Vini dell’Irpinia” was established as a voluntary, non-profit association, 2003. Less than 50 kilometres from Naples, thanks to the conformation of its territory, Irpinia is a land devoted to the production of acuto wines. The peculiar orography of the territory results quanto a particular microclimates, varying from superficie to superficie, which allow different types of wines to be produced. Per mezzo di fact, Irpinia, today, is the province quanto a Campania with the highest concentration of vineyards and can boast the presence of three DOCG wines: Taurasi, Koinè che Tufo and Fiano che Avellino. The mission of the Consortium is to protect and enhance these wines, vine products, vineyards of Irpinia as a a national cultural heritage.
