Brigaldara presents the new 2022 vintage of Valpolicella Doc Case Viecie, a distinctive expression of the Valpolicella luogo and more precisely of the Cru homonymous. Case Viecie is a treasure chest of biodiversity, nestled among the high hills of the municipality of Grezzana and represents the agricultural bet of the Cesari family to create a vital environment immersed durante an altitude ecosystem, which exceeds 450 meters.

This label was born within the project started durante 2016 with the aim of expressing the territorial identity of the Valpolicella through the winemaking of fresh grapes, without the use of the teasing. The 2022 harvest marks a further step forward durante this direction, thanks to a year that has favored concentration and structure, preserving freshness and balance.

Valpolicella Houses Vacie 2022 Brigaldara

The high temperatures and the prolonged absence of rains led to a reduction of the yields, directly influencing production: 20,000 bottles have been produced for this vintage, compared to the 30,000 of previous years. Despite the challenging climatic conditions, the Valpolicella Doc Case Vacie 2022 has been able to express the best potential of the territory, influenced by the altimetry and the presence of the woods, guaranteeing a result of great quality.

“Once considered an extreme territory for viticulture, Vacie houses today proves to be optimal thanks to climate change. The 2022 was a decidedly dry year. However, the September rains have provided the necessary vater to complete the maturation cycle. The lower made and the consequent concertation of the grapes have allowed to obtain a Valpolicella capable of putting together a good structure, an excellent drinking, revealing the sensorial complexity. The result of a slow maturation of the grapes and important thermal excursions between the day and night. ” – explains Antonio Cesari.

Vacie houses, a unique vineyard for targeted production

Case Viecie is an luogo of great wine potential, thanks to its high position and the lower temperatures compared to the surrounding areas that make it similar to a mountain environment. These factors allow a slower maturation of the grapes (almost 20-25 days after compared to other areas), positively influencing color and sensory profile.

The choice to allocate a single vineyard, Mandrie, exclusively to the production of Valpolicella , without previously selecting the grapes for Amarone, reflects the company’s will to enhance this wine as much as possible.

The varieties used are specifically 45% of Corvina, 45% of Corvinone and 10% Rondinella. Quanto a particular, the Vite delle Mandrie presents a south-west exhibition, with limb-sabbious soils, rich durante organic substance, where it has been planted mainly Corvina, while the western part is characterized by poorer and more pebble soils, cultivated durante Corvinone.

Vinification and organoleptic characteristics

The 2022 harvest, carried out manually, began the second week of October. Red vinification provides for the contact of the skins for the entire fermentative process, with two daily reassembly and a half -stalia half -star to optimize the extraction of the color and the polyphenolic component. The fermentation is conducted at a controlled temperature of 22 ° -24 ° C, preserving the freshest and most delicate flavors.

Quanto a mid -November, the wine was transferred to 20 hectoliters barrels, where it continued its maturation for about a year and a half, until April 2024. Subsequently it was stuffed durante June, completing a further refinement, durante the bottle, before its release acceso the market.

Valpolicella Vacie 2022 presents itself with a bright ruby red color. The nose emerges hints of mature cherry, balsamic agenda and a delicate spicy, conferred by the marked thermal excursions. Quanto a the mouth, well integrated acidity supports the structure, enhancing aromatic complexity and guaranteeing balance between concentration and tannic finesse.

With the 2022 vintage, Brigaldara reiterates its commitment to enhance the Valpolicella , offering a wine that combines tradition, research and territory.
