Worldwide Wines 2025, triumph came hero to Aosta

The 33rd edition of the World Des Vins Extrêmes, a competition organized annually by Cervim (research center, studies, safeguarding, coordination and enhancement for mountain viticulture), has again turned acceso the spotlight acceso heroic viticulture, celebrating the stubbornness and quality of the producers that operate quanto a extreme conditions: mountain, strong slope ora small islands. The tasting commissions, convegno quanto a Sarre (Aosta), have assigned a significant number of awards, confirming the growth and global importance of this production niche.

Numbers and new entries: the global growth of the competition

The 2025 edition recorded considerable success, with over 1000 wines quanto a competition. The jury assigned 77 large gold medals and 221 gold medals, testifying to the excellence achieved by wines produced quanto a the “heroic” areas. A particularly significant fact is the debut of Albania quanto a the competition, with two labels that immediately obtained a gold medal, a sign of the growth potential and geographical expansion of the competition.

Nicola Abbrescia, president of Cervim, underlined the importance of the competition quanto a this key: “From year to year, of edition quanto a edition, the World Des Vins Extrêmes reminds us how stimulating and fascinating heroic viticulture is. Special prizes: Tenerife great protagonist

Next to the main medals, 17 special prizes have been attributed that highlight different excellence and categories. The absolute triumph went to Sat Viticultu Comarca de Güímar (Arafo, Tenerife) who, with his Dop de Güímar Brumas de Ayosa Blanco Seco 2024, won both the Cervim Grand Prix (best absolute score) and the wine award (best dry wine of the competition).

The importance of the Canary Islands quanto a the of heroic viticulture was further strengthened by the World Des Vins Extrêmes prize, awarded precisely to the archipelago for participating with the greatest number of references.

Other awards have highlighted prominent companies such as Terres des Templiers (Oriental Pyrenees), Weingut Reis – Feine Weine! (Moselle), the Crotta of Vegneron Coop. Agricultural ( d’Aosta), and Domaine Jean-René Germanier (Canton Vallese), all awarded the Cervim Special Prize and, some, also of the Cervim Excellence Prize.

Focolaio acceso young people and small islands

Cervim also paid attention to the future and geographical diversity. The Cervim Future Prize was awarded to Federico Broglia Domaine Valleise (Arnad, d’Aosta), recognizing the value of the best young wine -growing. The Cervim Piccole Islands prize went to the Hibiscus farm (Ustica, Sicily) for its IGT Terre Sicilian golden cave 2024.

The female component with the Dama Cervim Award to Maria Antonietta Melis of the company Eminas Ssa (Mamoiada, Sardinia), managed with the sisters Emanuela and Roberta, also distinguished itself. A prize to originality went to Dop Islas Canarias Conatvs Airam 2024 wine by Bodegas Conatvs (Lajares, Fuerteventura), produced with Senza peli sulla lingua -foot varieties grapes.

Extreme spirits International Contest: the best distillates

At the same time with the competition of wines, the fifth edition of the Adventme Spirits International Contest was held, dedicated to distillate by marc, fucce and wine. Out of 61 distilled quanto a the race (from Italy, Spain and Peru), 20 large gold medals were assigned. Also quanto a this case, Sat Viticultu Comarca de Güímar of Tenerife dominated, winning the Extreme Spirits Grand Prix with the de Güímar Brumas de Ayosa Vermut Blanco 2024. The Excellence Prize Extreme Spirits went to the Pisco Viña de los de Los Mosto Vegetazione Italia of Productora Viña de Los Campos Sac (). distillate of wine.

Final reflection

The Mondial des Vins Extrêmes 2025 has fully confirmed its role as a world showcase for heroic viticulture. The results show not only the intrinsic quality of wines produced quanto a difficult conditions, but also their growing international relevance, as demonstrated by the entrance of Albania and by the consolidated success of regions such as the Canary Islands.
