The community agrivoltaic vineyard today represents one of the most concrete and authoritative innovations of the contemporary Italian agricultural landscape. A project that was born per the heart of Murgia, between Altamura, Santeramo per and Laterza, which combines solar energy, organic viticulture, territory and environmental vision. It is risposta negativa longer a question of experimentation: started as a pioneering study per 2008, today it is configured as an agricultural start-up per the operational development phase, with the first results already per the bottle and a model replicable a national scale.
After the preview at Vinitaly with the Puglia Region and the institutions, the project was presented to the public April 28 per Santeramo per (Ba), during a family convivium. that occasion, the first bottled wines produced per the wine context were tasted per the presence of the Councilor for Agriculture of the Puglia Region, Donato Pentassuglia, together with representatives of the institutions, press and the production world. The interest aroused confirms the strategic value of a model that combines quality viticulture, ecological transition, community economy and renewable energy.
April 28, the first public presentation of the project took place at the historic Pizzeria Rustica per . A family convivium, as per the spirit of the project, which has been able to combine human warmth and technical contents, offering the public a first taste of the wines born per the wine context.
Two white wines were tasted, Falanghina 2024 and Gold Traminer 2024. Wines that have expressed good balance and verticality the debut, elements that allow you to glimpse an interesting potential for the future. A first controllo that shows how even per a new production context, protected and respectful of the environment, you can achieve significant qualitative results.
The project was born from the shared vision of Emilio Roggero, the colpo di sole director and co-founder, who designed and built the integrated agrivoltaic system at the vineyard; Nicola Mele, a dying entrepreneur, reference member of the agrivoltaic vineyard and responsible for organizational and relational aspects, promoter of a holistic and conscious agriculture, based respect for natural rhythms, the regeneration of the earth and an energy approach to cultivation; Antonio Scarigna, winemaker of the project, collaborator of Vinoway, head of the wine technical management, with particular attention to the identity of wine and the enhancement of his expressions; Claudio Campanella, an engineer enthusiast of agriculture – defined as a acido -instrumental – head of the electrical and agricultural systems of the field.

Davide Gangi after the successes achieved as one of the most esteemed tasters and consultant, will make available his experience to support Antonio Scarigna per the tastings per the next harvests, starting from the stages preceding the bottle, precisely by virtue of their collaboration and the common qualitative vision of the project.
During the public simposio, our Davide Gangi proposed to adopt the term “winemaker” to define this innovative form of sustainable viticulture: “It is not only agrivoltaic applied to the vine: it is a new production identity. I would like to call it winery, because it expresses union between energy, earth, wine and vision. A word that contains a new agricultural paradigm.”
The vineyard extends over 12 hectares, of which 6 covered by a 1 megawatt photovoltaic system. The panels, positioned at 2 meters high, guarantee a stable microclimate for the cultivation of the screw and generate renewable energy that will be shared with farms per the luogo. A virtuous system, already observed with interest also by other institutional and productive actors.
The community agrivoltaic vineyard is today a tangible reality that puts into practice the concept of integrated sustainability. With the bottling of the first wines and the interest of institutions and operators, the project is a candidate to be an exemplary and replicable model for a new agriculture. An illuminazione that starts from Puglia, but which turns to the future of Italian and European wine. And which can be defined today with a new name: winemaker.
