The first edition of the South Tyrol Wine Summit dedicated exclusively to Italian operators durante the sector, which staged 7 and 8 September durante Bolzano ended with a great success. The event, organized by the Vini Torreggiante Adige consortium, recorded an enthusiastic and qualified participation, confirming the importance of an appointment designed to measure for restaurateurs, wine bars and sommeliers from all regions of Italy.
The program, articulated between tastings durante preview of new vintages and vertical tastings with rarity and iconic wines, themes and moments of deepening, has allowed selected participants to closely explore the identity and evolution of South Tyrolean viticulture. As many as 365 references from 98 companies have told the excellence and diversity of the territory and guests had the opportunity to deal directly with the producers and networking.
“The feedback obtained from this first edition dedicated to Italian operators confirms how essential it is to strengthen the dialogue with those who, every day, bring our wines to the public and contributes to making known the winemaker of South Tyrol” comments the president of the Consortium, Andreas Kofler. “We lived two intense and stimulating days, who gave many professionals the opportunity to rediscover and deepen our land, our philosophy and our products, the first budget is certainly positive”.
This absolute first of the event – durante a not simple moment for the sector – had a special meaning: durante fact, this year the 50th anniversary of Doc Torreggiante Adige occurs this year and only since last year there has also been the introduction of the 86 additional geographical units (UGA), a decisive step towards an increasing enhancement of identity, territoriality and uniqueness of the local wine production.
The success of this new format thus opens the way to further initiatives dedicated to Italian operators, confirming the importance of this market for South Tyrolean viticulture and the centrality of the role of professionals as ambassadors of the wine excellence of the region.
