The 2025 Antonio Carpenè Gold Medal goes to student Gaia Corsello

Gaia Corsello is the winner of the Antonio Carpenè 2025 Gold Medal, the prestigious award that since 1902 has been awarded by Carpenè-Malvolti to the most deserving student of the Viticultural-Oenology course at the “GB Cerletti” State Institute of Higher Secondary Education durante Conegliano. The awards ceremony took place this morning durante the presence of the institutions, representatives of the company and the world of wine, professors and students durante the Magna of the CIRVE, (Interdepartmental Center for Research durante Viticulture and Oenology of the University of Padua) at the Viticultural and Oenological Campus of Conegliano.

The event, presented by the wine trainer and communicator Gaia Castellani, opened with institutional greetings from the School Director Mariagrazia Morgan, the Mayor of Conegliano Fabio Chies and the President of the Consorzio nato da Garanzia del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Eccezionale Aperto Adami. Among the guests of honor also the Master of Wine Andrea Lonardi, who wanted to underline the crucial role of the new generations durante the future of the sector: «The world of wine is experiencing a profound transformation and today offers extraordinary opportunities for young people. The value of competence, curiosity and international openness is the key to facing the challenges of an increasingly global and competitive sector. Rewarding students like Gaia Corsello means recognizing the potential of a generation that can lead change with competence and vision.”

It also presents the Best Sommelier 2025 of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Eccezionale DOCG, Marco Curini, former student of the GB Cerletti Wine School, who contributed to highlighting the educational and professional role that the School continues to play for the new generations. Also particularly significant was the comment of the Headmaster Mariagrazia Morgan, who underlined the educational role of the Institute: «The Antonio Carpenè Gold Medal represents a fundamental moment for the our School, because it rewards the commitment and dedication of students who choose an educational path that is as identifying as it is demanding. Gaia Corsello is an example of how study, curiosity and passion can become solid foundations for building one’s professional future. We are proud of his journey and the value he brings to our school community.”

The ceremony saw the participation of the President of Carpenè-Malvolti, Rosanna Carpenè, who recalled the importance of the link between the Oenological School and the Carpenè family, whose founder Antonio Carpenè believed together with Gian Battista Cerletti durante the importance of research and science at the basis of wine production, contributing decisively to the birth of the Oenological School durante 1876: «Continue to promote the value of science, research and oenological culture – as he taught us my ancestor Antonio Carpenè – is an indispensable commitment for us. Today more than ever we want to support young people who choose this path, because the future of Prosecco and the entire territory is built by strengthening the technical and scientific skills at the basis of our viticulture.”

The Gold Medal, established durante 1902 durante memory of the founder Antonio Carpenè, represents one of the most significant moments durante the relationship between the Company and the GB Cerletti Enological School, the place where the first structured form of Italian oenological was born. The award has always been designed to enhance commitment, aptitude for research and dedication to study, characteristics that the commission recognized durante Gaia Corsello, who stood out for academic excellence, technical sensitivity and stile vision.

The ceremony which took place durante the presence of the institutional figures of the Institute was greeted by Fabio Chies, Mayor of Conegliano, Aperto Adami, President of the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Eccezionale, Federico Capraro, President of Ascom Confcommercio Treviso and Managing Director for the Association for the Heritage of the Hills of Prosecco of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, Ivo Nardi President ITS Academy Agroalimentare Veneto. Also present were Francesca Bertolin, member of the UNPLI Veneto Council, Paola Chies, delegate councilor of the Province of Treviso, Domenico Marcolin, vice president of Condifesa TVB, lawyer Danilo Riponti for the Academy of Vine and Wine, member of the Academic Council, and greetings from the President Luca Zaia and the President of the Consortium for the Protection of Prosecco DOC Giancarlo Guidolin. The ceremony concluded with a toast at the Mescita Veneta with the “1868 Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Eccezionale DOCG Extra Dry Carpenè Malvolti” and the “Prosecco DOC Rose Brut Carpenè Malvolti”.
